I heard from a few friends over the weekend that Barney is planning on shutting down LA Dunes and that another guy is already working on reopening it with much needed improvements. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

I would like to hear some truth to this . We have been trying to get him out and a new group moved in to treat the place right , grooming and maybe even pushing up some sand from around the lake that has been roosted all over , But nothing concrete has ever come out of it yet ! If anyone knows detailed information let us know ,.

I also hope this is true. The guy said he will make some improvements to the place by paving roads and RV pads, building a new shower house, and most importantly he will use some type of machinery to smooth out the dunes

I was told the reason Barney wants out is because the insurance is getting too expensive and I think there are some lawsuits that have been filed.

My brother and cousins went this weekend. They talked to Barney and he didnt say anything about closing down. In fact he said he was renewing his insurance and expanding the parking lot alittle more. Thats what they said. Who knows the truth.
