So, Mark is the tomato king. Hey dude, tell me something about them little red suckers. Do they like a lot of water or a little water. Ive been planting tomatoes for several years and I cant figure out which is best.
Wow everyone's changing their icons. I can hardly figure out whose posting. I feel like I'm new all over again!
I think that everyone going to Sandlake 8/7 should make it a weeks stay, and travel down the coast on or around the 9th, to Coos Bay and visit with the nice people who will be staying and riding their from 8/9 to 8/13. Doesn't that sound like fun? Traveling down the Oregon Coast and visiting the beautiful dunes and beaches.....and oh yeah, their riding buddies!! I'm just wishing some of my riding family could be there with us! It's too bad that my "non-riding" family's reunion is on that weekend, or we could be there at Sandlake with you all!!
Well.....back to work!

OK, who's going riding this weekend? 2mny, are you going to go to Reiter on Saturday? I may be able to go early Saturday. Should be great weather for a ride in the mountains.

You should also trim the lower branches up a bit,,,,and when you water,,,,only water the soil (not the leaves,,they dont like to be wet) (to limit fungus growth). Surround the plant with a good bed of mulch,,,,to help keep the soil wet.
Trim the shutes that grow between the stem and branches.
They can be a pain at times (suseptible to a lot of diseases),,,,but the reward is usually worth it.
Plant some marigolds close by (helps keep tomatoes healthy). Get some organic granular fertilizer at the nursery.

I'd love to go down to Coos for the week but unfortunately I have to work. Cindy is saving vacation days for when we go see Nate in Kentucky for family weekend in Sept. and for his graduation in Oct.

Too bad about the reunion being the same week-end as SandLake, it would have been fun to see you and Joel, Hap and I think you two are a hoot . Or wish we could stay over longer and come on down south the following week but the 'ol job won't allow it and still be able to have a couple of extra days for the Labor Day week-end. I think we should all have at least another 3-4 weeks a year of paid vacation to fit all of these things in don't you think??

Watching the tomatoes grow is my new favorite pastime, and the rest of the week should really do them right. (sunny, 90's)

If he doesn't plan on coming up, then I'm up for any day.
