lovebytes- if you're in snohomish, then Rieter trails is just a few minutes away for you... out hwy 2 toward stevens pass , left at milepost 30, stay right on rieter rd, and the 1st staging area is on the left(open area)... about a mile further up is a road that cuts off to the left & goes through some trees, then crosses a shallow stream & comes out under the power lines to the upper staging area... its DNR land, great area to ride. lots of trails or varying difficulty, lots of rocks( need skid plates!) & some killer lookouts.

Thank you, after a lot of searching I did find their site earlier and I like their maps. Why is the local board so dead? Everyone comes here I guess.
Been riding up in Randal most of the year but they just posted signs this last weekend no ATVs. Got a number to call so Ill give that a shot to see about getting permits.

where at in Randle have you been riding? We wanted to go ride in to Packwood Lake but friends went there and new sign this year that says you can't ride to lake anymore on bikes. Thought maybe we would go try Blue Lake area the 11th of Sept. Do you know of other areas to ride in Randle area? We have never rode up in that area but heard the riding is good at Blue Lake area. We went to Missoula for 2 weeks and took our quads over there. Sure enjoyed that. Where we camped was beautiful and you could ride for ever. Rode into old ghost towns, old goldmines and miners cabins. All free camping over there, was really awsome trip. We decided we are gonna make that trip again. Need to find more areas in Washington for riding that you don't have to travel several hours to get to. What does anyone know about Waddle Creek area for riding? Do you know if dnr cares about riding on their land? How much trouble do you get into if get caught? We went riding yesterday on some dnr land and there is trails all over there and dirt and gravel roads. We ran into several people back there riding. Saw nothing posted for not tresspassing so we rode all day there and had lots of fun. It seems they are more laxed about people riding dnr land.

Well WHEW what a weekend!! Went up to Skagit Speedway Sat. night for the AMA flatttrack, we were just spectators but I tell you what I was JUST as wore out bench racing LOL, got home LATE & had to get up early to go up to Hannegan! What a good time had up there & yes Tractorpacker is right, it is an AWESOME fast track(if you have the right gearing :confused Joel, Ron says THANKS AGAIN for the ride he talked about it all the way home, now we're starting to think about selling the Kodiak again to get one he even said he would let DJ race it, but he gets it on the trails!! Ha that means I would get the 400
I think it was good for him to see that kid Reed on the 450 tearin it up, he's the same age maybe a yr younger than DJ & handles that thing awesome.
DJ did good for not racing for so long, he had some good competition w/ another blaster DJ's gearing was off some so the other kid got 1st but I guess they were side by side for alot of the race, said he got a little nervous due to having that nasty wipe out @ Rainier a couple months ago but I'd be worried if he wasn't, I couldnt' watch cuz I had to race in his class I DON'T like that, it took DJ a little bit to get around Racergirl but I was absoultly NO competition for anyone nothin worse than getting LAPPED but it was by a 450 so thats how that day went LMAO!!
Would like to hit the one Sept 11 BUT THE HRCA RIDE IS THAT MONTH!! Just curious is ANYONE from here going to make it?????????????????????????????? If so could you email me @ sandvig4@juno.com PLEASE I'm trying to get a head count kind of to see how many riders we will have COME ON EVERYONE LETS GO RIDING/CAMPING UP NORTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOAH Adventures of no one payin attention to where their goin So i met Dinger(troy) and Itsaboutriding (Matt) down at Rock Candy 8am saturday we sat round and chatted for a bit and when we went to take off troys LTZ400 wouldnt start, he replaced a fuse and we tapped on everything and then decided the starter switch was bad. troy stripped the wires and touched his solder points together but still no go. tapped the starter with some pliers and tried agin started right up. so troy taped the wires to his handlebars so he could touch em to start and we took off down the trails. Right at the end of the powerline trail I was wheeliing for a while and hit the whoops and bumped the throttle and landed on the grab bar. so i kicked the bike foreward and fell off the back at 50. Them rocks hurt a lil but not bad. The rappy went up the hill and did a barrel roll landing on the bars. She got some minor injuries but oh well. broke the grab bar off and the taillight and banged the exhaust and a bent clutch lever. so after shakin off the fall we headed up the trails and we bee bopped along following pink arrows. Ended up out in Porter crick. we all checked gas and Matt was a lil low and troy figured he had plenty. so we took off up the Porter mima #3 and about 2 miles from capitol peak matt both hits a root and flips his quad and sprains his thumb. (Narrow trails for extended a arms) so we get up to a road and we were like its been about 35 miles lets just take the road. but then we couldnt figure out which road as none were marked. so we took off following the pink arrows more down the road and matt ran outta gas behind us and Troy n I ran into some people in a car. lookin at their map we decided we needed to go the other way. and thats when we found matt. so we figured we had about 10 miles to go so matt gave me his truck keys to come up and get him. troy and i head off where we think is now the way and run into a group of about 10 Motorcyclers. they had been out trimming the trails and marking for the poker run on sunday. well they didnt know where they were and wanted to take the road too. so we all looked at their map and decided we were on the c 4000 for some reason and headed down the hill. well troy runs outta gas thinkin he still has reserve but nope he was running reserve the whole time. (check your petcock before you leave) so i leave him about 5 miles away from matt. i went with the motorcyclers and we all stopped a few miles down the road and decided we were heading to porter and thats not the way. so we burned back up the roads and got to where we cam outta the trails. one guy says well i have a gps. but no maps that didnt help. then another guy pipes up and says well i was out marking this trail yesterday if we just go down this its about 10 miles or sompin to rock candy. shakin heads we were all like yeah well lets go. so were goin down that trail and i was following some girl on a kx250 that was a lil rich on the oil. in the "Smoke Screen" i hit a root tryin to sqeeze between some trees and spun around and bounced backwards over the hill. i jumped off the back of the quiad and kept it from goin dowwwwn.. 15 minutes later i had wrastled it back to the trail. not an easy task without a grab bar. soi catch back up with the motorcycles since they go pretty slow on the slick trails it wasnt to hard. and went past a sign 9ish miles to rock candy either way. so we take the trail to the left and end up on the c4000 finally finding a sign to tell us what road it was.. so anyhow i get to the trucks and grab fuel run 12 miles up to matt and load up his quad and another 5 to troy and give him fuel when we get there he says maybe i shoulda topped off my tank before we left and matt says yeah i thought about that too. (fuel up before you go) so we burned back down the roads and troy followd the truck out. was good times we got dirty and wet and had fun.. The campsites are all tucked back in a bit from the beach so no romantic beach views if that's what you're hoping for
wow, couldn't get on the internet this last weekend...
I prefer Horsefall for a campground over Spinreel and KOA.
KOA is nice if you "need" hook-ups... that's it (for me at least). It doesn't have direct access to the dunes. Yes, you can ride from the campground, but it's not on the dunes.
Spinreel is nice if you like more private camping. Most of the sites are private, but there are a few that are side-by-side. No showers... Depending on the loop you stay on, you'll have to beat your paddles on pavement for a while to get to the dunes.
I prefer Horsefall because it's right on the dunes and has showers. My motorhome is self-contained, but I do use the showers so I don't fill up my gray water tank.
I've stayed at all three (including horsefall beach) and I'd pick Horsefall first, then horsefall beach, then Spinreel, then if there was no place else to go... KOA.
If you're in a tent... I'd pick Horsefall over KOA.
