Thanks for the great info. I am looking for a killler safety pack. Something like a first aid kit mixed with basic survival supplies. I've tried the metal first aid kits and they rust. I've tried the Wal-Mart & Ace Hardware vinyl kits and they end up getting ruined before I can use them. Do you know of a weather proof pack that already comes with the basics?

Thanks again!
Ron

Be careful with that new tank bag. If it's the kind that fits over the gas cap. make sure you get all the dirt and mud off of it and the filler neck before you try to take it off or it will fall in the tank. I cut my fuel line between the tank and carb and installed a fuel filter also.
Get yourself a heat gun. Clean your bars and grips with rubbing alcohol, heat up the bars and grip with the heat gun, put the glue on the grip so it will be spread into the grip as you slide it on. If you put the glue on the bars it just pushes it off. They will slide on like butter.
Hope this help the next time you change them. The heat gun also works to take them off. Mine were loose and I took them off and re-glued them.

Tony.

Thanks for the tips. Good point on the tank bag. That happened the other week when on of the riders was taking off their tank plastic to check the fuel line. Big glob of dirt fell right into the tank. I will be careful. This groups is very helpful on the grips. Next time I buy something new, I'll post before I try to put it on.

As far as snow riding!, we need to plan another January overnighter to Moses!!

how many last year, 29 adults, + kids and dogs!!! and one big azz bonfire!!
I had a blast last year! I agree it needs to happen again. I'm going to be on a business trip for a week and a half in mid January, so anytime in February would work for me.
Not in February, thats the sand lake week. Moses was awsome in Januuary, I agree it needs to happen again.
I could make the weekend of 8-9 or 29-30 work. (depending on Jake's wrestling matches)

Hey BEAR,

If I go on the 18th, I don't get off work until 0700, but may be able to bribe somebody to come in for me at 0600 or 0630. As soon as I confirm I can go, we'll set up a time. Maybe we'll either meet at about 0700 or 0730. We have a station right off Hwy 512 and Pacific Ave we can leave your truck and trailer there and won't have to worry about it. Then we can meet up with SkLLz somewhere ALONG I-90 to throw him and his quad in.

We need to keep bugging others to come along to play in the SNOW SNOW SNOW
cool, you guys could meet me at the albertsons in issaquah, if i remember correctly its the last exit to issaquah (its the exit to get to chubby's that 1950's burger joint, i cant remember the exit name or #) if you have a better spot in mind let me know. i think i have chuck from wsqr talked into going to cle elum, he would love to put his blackwaters to the test in some snow. I would honeslty suggest putting one together yourself.
Most of the stuff that comes in the pre-made up ones is useless.
I have lots of good info on survival type stuff and first-aid stuff to carry. Doesn't take up much room either

It also depends on how big of a pack or container you want and how you want to carry it. I have mine in a fanny pack so I can carry it with me if I want. Right now I have a first-aid kit and survival kit in two seperate fanny packs, just looking for one good bag to use. The stuff inside is either in a ziploc for items I get into frequently, or vacu-sealed ( I love my food-saver vacu-sealer I bought at Costco). We ute guys have it a little easier because we have more room to carry stuff than the sportie guys.
That's why the sportie boys like us to come along, we bring everything they'll need. Like winches and tow straps, etc. hehehe LMAO.....

I can show you mine when we come over to ride.
I carry enough stuff we could camp out for a week if we needed to, or so I've been accused of

Maybe we can use this topic as a good excuse to have a pizza party. We can have a little class/round table discussion on these type of topics and eat lots of pizza. I also have a pretty good video to watch, it's pretty basic but very imformative on survial techniques and types of equipment/clothes to carry. I think you guys would enjoy it.
