Merry Christmas everyone. Looks like I'm the frist on here this Christmas morning.
I remember those trail your talking about.
Kevin always seems to work his way into leading, I like to stay in the back and make sure everyone makes it thru and help them when needed.
Larry, What tools do I need to change the rear axle bearings on a Rappy? I'm headed to Eric's house to help him do his.

pipe wrench for the large axel nuts (not sure what size)
wrench for hub nut
block of wood to protect end of axel and carrier,,,,as you work on them
some sort of prybar/loong screwdriver to knock bearings out
If you heat the bearing carrier up,,,the aluminum will expand and make the bearing come out a lot easier (i set mine on top of the kerosene heater for about 15 mins,,,,,,worked like a charm
also,,,,if the old bearings are really bad,,,there may be a little damage to the left side edge of the carrier where it rubbed
you may need to re-chamfer this edge to replace bearings (self evident)
the chain and brakes can remain intact,,,,,the rotor cuff and sprocket cuff will just slide off the splines as you slide the axel out
Merry Christmas to all my friends and you too King Wow what a great time. With all that said I need to borrow sum money for diesel next week to get to the dunes Oh well guess we will look behind the couch and truck seats to scrape up enough to get down there and roost the fire out of you dune devils he he he Hope we all have a safe and healthy 2005

Ditto to what Bing said, if the bearings haven't changed before those axle nuts can be a real bear to break loose, but remember there's two set screws, I've heard alot of people getting one set screw out and trying to break the nut and just ending up screwing up the threads on the axle.
Merry Christmas ATV Buddies. We hooked the kids good with Santa Clause this year. He dropped by last night for a photo op and then came back while everyone was sleeping. My 4 year old was so convinced Santa left him presents overnight. If only I could fool my colleagues as easy as that.
HappaRap, thanks for the info. I'll see you bright and early in the am. Are we planning on eating up there or should I plan to spend my hours on the road productively building energy for the ride?
Bear, I'll meet you at Happa's. It should be a great ride. From the sounds of it, you and I may be busy pulling these little sporties around by their noses through the rough stuff.
