It will be at least a month before I can think of doing anything... it might be longer. My lower back is really swollen up... never had that happen before...
To go to Coos Bay, you'll have make reservations after either April 1st or April 30th for Horsfall or Spinreel. Before that time it's first come first serve. Horsfall beach is first come first serve all the time. reserveamerica.com does the reservations for Horsfall and Spinreel.
My preference is to stay at Horsfall campground. Sites 3-16 are good. Sites 24-38 along the back are good too...
If we go before reservations are required, I would suggest taking Friday off of work and leaving either Thursday night or early Friday morning, to ensure a campsite. Ride Friday and Saturday, come home Sunday. It fills up Friday afternoon. I usually leave Thursday after work and arrive around 1 or so in the morning. I don't have much to set-up, so it's easy for me. If you make reservations, you may have to wait until the previous people leave, 1 or 2 is check-out time.
We have scheduled:
Goldendale Play Day on March 20th.
Goldendale Quad Race April 25th.
St. Anthony's May 15th-18th.
YoDaddy has a Florence trip in late April.
Raptorchick has a Florence trip in early April.

We are checking out a few quads this week-end unless Hap decides to go riding, then we might wait till next week-end. I think we are looking at a new Scrammy, though not positive yet.
Haha, I have to tell you guys what Hap tried to do to me...he tried to talk me into thinking the Raptor would be such a great bike for me then he could get something new. I told him to stop dreaming, I don't like the Rappy for me and want an automatic, just what part of "I want an automatic do you not get??" He tried to tell me that I don't know what I want because I have not even tried the shifty kind. I'm sure you can guess how that went over??? I called him on what he was trying to do and he smiled and grinned and got all goosy looking about it and agreed that it is my choice and that I DO know what I want and don't want and that he was just trying to maybe sneak in a new quad for him. What a sneaky guy he is huh? It was very funny actually hehehe.

Or, plan one for now, and then plan another later???
I'm open to either...........

To pitch a tent at Horsfall, you'll have to rent a space. The spaces are twice as wide as a normal parking space (maybe a little more) and 30'-50' long. If a few of us didn't get a site right with the others, it's no big deal at Horsfall, or any other for that matter.
Horsfall does fill up quick when open for reservations.
I plan on going several times this year. Definately in mid July and again in October... a few spur of the momement trips between now and then too. If you want less chance of rain, July through September is best, it doesn't matter to me when it is... It's all good!!!!

I think we ought to plan this for which ever month in Sean's poll wins. It is looking like June so far. Would we have to wait to make the reservations for those sites until after April or can we book for June or July now? The only thing about going there with no reservation is finding out that some of those sites have people staying for some of the days that we would want them for. At least with reservations we would have them by 1 or 2 on Friday ( we would pay the extra day to have it open for us whe we arrive).
But...Hap and I really are willing to go whenever the rest want to go as long as we give Mr. Toyz plenty of recoop time to heal before a trip

Outkastjoe may have a reason for picking Sandlake. I'm thinking because it's closer for him. If you guys want to go to Sandlake plan it... it's all good.
I can always go to Coos Bay some other time.

Hey Val, that is what we do. and we do it well. At least he caved in this time. LOL
Do you like the scrammy? Why? I haven't ridden or even seen one?
I would like to sell Tam's and get her a new one. Only cause I love the ride of my Rinny, and we could share it?
I'm really not looking forward to researching what to get. Way to many out there to choose from.
2mny,
I know you have two of them. How do they do on the trails? Are they cabable of climbing some of the hills we saw at Winchester?
Are they Automaitc or shifters? Clutch or auto clutch? Have reverse? Can you put some pretty simple mods on them to make them go better?

Hap is the research adict! Since I rode last week-end he has been checking out bikes for me and can fill you in on what his findings are. He likes the Scrammy for me but he will have to explain why
I just know it is automatic, has reverse and 4-wheel drive. Plus it is not a small bike, I feel good on it. All the stuff I want!! Ask Hap, they took me up some good hills and I didn't have any problems that were anything other than me being a newby to riding.
Whatever we shoot for be it Sandlakes or Coos Bay we are "IN", just need to know where and when . Work it Sean!

If you want to get a machine that will take more pounding than a utility quad, the scrammy will do it. But if you want more response when you hit the trottle, get a (shifter) sporty... don't waste time and $$$ with the scrammy. I kept mine because we like to have a machine that anybody can ride. If I started with the predator, I wouldn't have the scrammy now.
I have a pipe for mine...wasn't on it for Winchester. I also re-clutched it to grab harder with less belt slippage (to push the paddles).

Thanks Karl,
I'm not into speed records, or drag racing. If you said your climbed Banshee Hill, that pretty much tells me it would climb any of the hills we came across. I would like to jump a little bit and be able to go up the hills.
Does your wife like riding hers?
I take it it does pretty good on the trails to?
Is it "full time" 4 wheel drive, or selectable between 2wd/4wd?
