Larry,the riding up by Burnett is actually between Burnett & Wilkerson,a few miles out of Buckley.The riding is a powerline area that has a nice mix of open powerline roads & some really nice wooded trails.The first time we went up I thought it was just roads but asked some other riders who said the woods on the south side had some great trails.

He was right we spent quite a while exploring them all.There is a couple that have to be the longest smoothest perfect atv wide trails I've ever seen.There's also a few really nice hill climbs.You can get a couple of hours of really good riding in up there-semi close to home.Next time I go up I can right down the exact directions for you or if you want a trail guide let me know[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Nick,good choice on the Asus A7N8X Deluxe,that nforce2 chipset is great, make sure you get 2 equal size sticks of ram in there to take full advantage of the dual channel ram.Hope you have good speakers because the on board sound will outperform most stand alone soundcards.(Intel=great performance,AMD=great performance & value)but then you probably knew that[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] computer,computer,computer,blah,blah,blah[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]

Im riding today (Monday around noon) at Rock Candy.. (White Dodge-big ugly race car trailer) I'll hang round the power lines for a few minutes waiting for anyone who may show up... Or until my skin starts burning from the radiation.. LOL

Thurston ORV park is closed, but there is a trailhead there.

Well you can tell it has not rained in a while the AM traffic is all backed up. Its funny it seems like everyone for gets how to drive after the first rain.

Hey Dual-sporter I had read a post that you checked out the in door moto plex in Marysville. How was it? I was thinking about going up and checking it out. Is it worth the $$.$$ and the Drive?

We are going to Horn Rapids ORV park on the 9/27 and 9/28 for a dealer challenge I will be racing for team Enumclaw. Jeff asked if I wanted to try so I though what the heck, It should be fun racing for a team, there's going to be 14+ riders on each team.


Also on the 9/27 there's a race at www.Longviewmx.com and they have a couple quad classes. This is the first year that longview will be letting quads on the track and only on race days.

I wanted to check out OPMC. A few guys were talking about it at the last race at pacific. They were saying that its a good track. BIG jumps tripples and stuff. So I will check out there series and see if I can make it to one.

Hopefully some time in September RMC in Renton will be opening/moving to there new store that has a indoor track. Its not that big but I think it might be fun when the weather gets nasty.

We will be out at Rock Candy today we will be on YFZ450,Raptor,DS650,400EX,and a KFX700 look for a black Dodge with a 16' white trailer the trailer is kinda beat up looking.
Any how if you see up say Hi.

 

Five or six of us are going riding on Sunday the 14th. We are probably going to Tahuya, on the 4x4/Jeep trail side. We would also like to try the area next to the Shelton Airport off of Hwy. 101. Has anyone riden there? We went there last month but it was closed due to fire hazard. I heard there is some pretty decent trails there. If anyone is looking for us, there will be a couple of white ford pick-ups and maybe a blue S-10.

 

Man I didnt make it to Rock candy... I went for an eye exam this am to see if I can get lasik surgery... Those drops to dialate your pupils really mess your vision up. I couldnt see a thing in the sun light.... I should have checked the board when I got home, but I couldnt see anything up close....

I bet today was a great day to ride!

Next time you go to Burnett give me a shout, sometimes I have a day off during the week but weekend would be better. The only weekend out is the 20th, that's Sandlake weekend. Very interested in this new place. Thanks

It was a great day for riding. I had never been to Rock Candy I think that if I am going to go to any trail riding I will think of Rock Candy first.
We were doing good till I ran off the road but that was not ended the day. It was when they stoped to help me out of the ditch Shon(Brother-n-law) rear ended the KFX700 and tacoed the fron rim.

A BIG THANKS to Bing for the help with the rim.

I am thinking that next time I will be takeing it easyer (slower) so I stay on the road (-:
So after I get the bikes home to get a assement on all the damage. I got 1 smashed rim a mutluated bumper on the raptor and one upper ball joint and one lower ball joint on the 450. The thing that sucks is that I have to replace the upper A-arm to replace the upper ball joint. So I am just going to get +1 A-arms for MX racing instead of just buying one upper A-arm for $200.00 and still be stock size.


I would like to go to Capital forest next Saturday but I work on Staurdays so thats a no go for me.

 

I got to rock candy about 11:15 or so and met Lokids650 and his buds. What a lineup, and new 450, v-force, raptor, ds650 and a 400ex.

NO DUST, at all,,,,just a few rocks. We were bumper to bumper for about 4 miles (nice fast riding) (b-5000 to b-5200) It was nice to ride dust free for a change.

I saw loki take off back the way we came and everyone stopped and watched, so I followed to see what was up. I went all the way back to the gate (way too far) and wondered if he had nitrous or something (he was out of sight)???? I turned aroud and got back to the wreck, the v-force off the trail and a f-ed up raptor. .........Im just glad no-one got hurt. That v-force has got a nice yamaha shield on it.

The 450 went off the trail,,,,,,,,,,,,,I drove right past him ,,,,,,,,the v-force stopped to help, and the raptor slammed the V...oops

anyhow,

It was great to meet you guys. Get your bikes fixed and Ill see you in october.
