Hey everyone, just a quick question. I was thinking about going to the rock sat. and running north rim #1 trail down to porter creek, and then taking mount molly porter #3 back up to rock candy. Has anyone made that loop before? And if so, how was it?
Thanks, Troy

Hello Everyone....This is GREAT getting all of US new people to join you FORUM VETERANS....
We talked briefly about it last Saturday but never came up with a plan so let me throw this at ya all for discussion....What do you all think about a weekend trip camping and riding the weekend of 11 & 12 of October? Location unknown and up for discussion as well since you know many more places than I do...
Of course the more people the better, and just to avoid anyone being left out ALL are invited and encouraged to join the festivities.....
Just a thought, what do you think??

Camping that weekend is a good idea!
Marci (NWCutie) & I discussed that as a weekend that might be fun to go to Moses Lake, Since she has an "in service" day that Thursday and Friday, she might be able to get out of town early, and Since I'm "self" employed, I'm real flexable!
we also discussed the Oregon Beaches, So I know nothing is for sure yet.
Keep the discussion going, and maybe Larry would bring Val, we could loan her a quad for a couple hours!

You can ride and fit down every trail including those two. I think Nick is the person you want to ride with, he loves those tight trails, that's a long ride, first and second gear, start early, use your headlights and finish late. North Rim #1 crosses B-Line, and Molly Porter #3 crosses B-1000.
If I were you, I would go around the gate on B-6000, at the end of the powerline from the parking lot. You catch North Rim #1 at the end of that road. That trail crosses A-4510, where Jeff's chain came off, remember?, it then crosses B-Line, right before B-2010.
Bottom line is, start out at the beginning and you have multiple spots to bale and head back on main roads if it seems too long or too much. I would accept the challenge to the call of the tight trails after my Sandlake trip.
We just need enough to go so we have enough muscle to pull the fallen quads back up the hill, hehe.

Back to your original question, I haven't ridden that trail, so I can't say the condition of it. I have ridden East Rock Candy Trail towards Middle Waddell, it's tight and tough as nails in some spots, and pure fun in other spots, any of these trails are a challenge, just be thankful your'e not on that banshee. I've fallen and can't get up, sorry I couldn't resist, I've been there, done that.
These trails close October 1st I do believe.

Glad to see your'e still alive, haven't heard much from you since your ride down the side of the mountain, ouch, I must say, you are one lucky dude, that was a heck of a ride down. I'm picking the pictures up this morning, so should have them posted tonight. Hopefully you can join us for a ride before the camping trip, heck there's always somebody riding at THE ROCK.
Take care, keep the rubber down

The next camping trip will be my first with anybody in the group and Val will be with me, for sure. Besides, if she didn't participate, I would starve, I can't cook, well I can open a can of beenie weenies at least LOL. Naw, the real deal is I would never camp without her, I enjoy her company way too much, and that's how it is in our relationship, we're extremely close and to share our experiences together is what having a partner in life is all about. The 11th and 12th look good for us, probably a sand trip, since the trails at Waddell will be closed to riding.

Larry,
You know for some reason I like to mess with you!, and I figured that if you could make it, Val would be there. It's just my way of suggesting, that between all of us we might be able to get her out on a quad for a ride or two! Can she handle a clutch on a blaster?
Till later

Looks like Sand Lake Campground is closed until March 15. The East and West lots are open as well as Derrick Rd. and Sand camping. Just a note since I read something about planning a trip to the dunes.
