If you havent visited the fish hatchery on the entrance road,,,,I highly recommend it. There is a really nice beach/river access that would come in real handy for a summer bath after a dusty ride. (swim trunks required Happa)

Well, Nick the scout has returned from his scouting expedition to Evans Creek. I was plesantly suprised that the snow wasnt as bad as I had thought it would be. I drove the family car up there (front wheel drive) and didnt have any problems at all. Yes, there is snow on the ground but its wet and sloppy snow. I checked both the upper and lowert staging areas and the trails leading out of lower staging appeared to be snow covered. The main trail out of staging from the up area looked very muddy and I would say its goint to take its toll of riders as we try to climb it. My past experience up there has shown that once the tread of your tires fill with mud, you are basically riding on slicks and you aint goin no where with that problem. Its up to the group of you whther or not you wanna go up there. Its 18 milesfrom Buckley to the staging area. The last 7 miles are slow speed roads. (some potholes, and alot of gravel). So, as this week unfolds, we shall see how the masses wanna approach this ride. REMEMBER....Evans Creek is, in my opinion, basically a Jeepers area. The ruts will prove that to be true.
