The bill, HB-1003, came out of the Senate committee, was passed this week by the State Senate, sent back to the house and passed there again and sent to the Governor for her signature. This is the law that will allow ATV's to run the Forest Service roads and non-highway roads in the state if the owners of the roads concur. So if your county aproves it, you will be able to ride on non-highway roads.

Oh man,
I'm busy trying to get the health clerk at my kids' school fired.
At this point she is lucky to still have a head It's been hard to keep my cool.
Each day I get more info that just makes me FUUUUMMIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGG PIST......
If I could tell the whole story, I'm sure you would be amazed.
a similar incident of my son being treated rudely happen a month or so ago.
Here's the Readers Digest Version.........
I can't do the story justice here, but you'll get the point. I'm leaving out lots of details that would strengthen my point, but these are the main facts that have me FUMING FREAKIN PIST OFF.
Hayley is 8, and in 2nd grade.
She is very quiet and shy. Pretty good pain tolerance, and doesn't whine and complain at all. She is a pretty tough lil girl.
She falls off the swing at school and breaks her arm just at her elbow. Not real bad, but it's broke.
She goes to the health room and is really guarding (holding tight to her body and won't let go) her left arm.
Health Clerk (not Nurse) tells her to "BUCK UP and take it"
HC tells her that mom and dad should "TOUGHIN HER UP at home"
HC makes her go get her own ice pack out of the the fridge. Hayley said she can't get it, but then says never mind and gets it herself.
HC leaves message at our house (after Hayley said there was nobody home to answer) and says Hayley fell and hurt her arm but there is no swelling, deformity, or marks (of which there was, but she never looked to really find out). She also stated that Hayley has a "history" and doesn't know if she can believe her that she is hurt (in spite of here severe pain, swelling, and guardinng of her arm). My research shows she has never been to the HC's office whining and complaining. She also stated that Hayley wasn't crying when she came in, but now she is. Hayley told me she was crying because HC was being mean and her arm started to hurt worse.
Instead of calling both my wifes and my cell phones, as they have always done in the past when one of the kids was sick, HC sent her back to class so she could get on the bus and go home. This is because IMO it was the end of the school day, it was Friday, and the HC didn't want to wait around after school for us to come get her.
Every person that saw Hayley after she left the HC's office (teacher, both bus drivers (she transfers buses), and her big sis) knew something was wrong and did notice the swelling.
When Hayley gets off the bus at home, she is crying and told her Grandma her arm hurt. Gram looks at her arm and freaks out. Calls me at work, so we drive over and check her out. Holy crap, elbow is swollen and she has severe pain when I touch or move her arm.
Maybe I'm over-reacting (I think not). To my dismay, I've stayed kinda calm for the time being.
Tomorrow I have meeting with the Principal, the HC, and school nurse (who covers 3 schools and is not there every day). Heads will roll, and I want somebody's job.
What would you do ????????????????????????????

I was even willing to understand how she could possibly miss the severity of this. I believe she shouldn't have missed it, but I was willing to take the stance that maybe the HC's needed some additional training to help them do their job. I wanted to be proactive and positive and offer suggestions so this wouldn't happen again to other kids. And then just get answers to why we were not called as they normally do, and if it was because it was the end of the day on Friday. That I expected phone calls from now on and I would hope this doesn't happen again to any of the students.
But then as I learned of how Hayley was treated and the comments made to her, that all went out the freaking door. An adult overheard the comments I mentioned and informed me of them today. Hayley confirmed word for word what I had been told.
Anyway, enough said. The more I say, the more mad I get. Which is not good for the HC.
It will be interesting at the "meeting" ( AKA Severe a$$ chewing session)

They should have called 911 Sean. The HC was not qualified to make the evaluation she did, which was wrong. When my kid did this same type of thing when she was in the 3rd grade, our school called 911 as that was the right thing to do. As luck would have it, her Mom was on duty and showed up. However they called me also and I even beat her mother to the school. Was closed by 5 miles. I don't like it when these public employees (your taxes dollars not at work) not only don't have to do their jobs, but are responsibile when they don't. Take it to the press and the school board if the school doesn't respond properly.
