Originally posted by: OneFlyCowboy Happy mine measures out at 52 in the front. and last time down in teh wet sand being that much wider than the average quad SUCKED on the trails. your always hooking outside the ruts and gettin thrown around. Its like driving a my lil truck on the freeway bouncing in and out of the ruts from the big trucks. kinda gives ya an outta control feeling.. My next trip I will be testing out the razr2's in the sand you wanna try and keep it under 48" if your gonna be in the trails and stuff. if your just riding the open dunes its nice bein wide for sliding the faces and such.
Is that measurement with stock arms and the Elka's?, you must have aftermarket arms and if so, how wide are they? I'll always be playing in the tree shots so guess I had better keep it under 48". Hummmm, maybe 1" offset rims and an axle, that would make it 48" square and throw in a steering dampner. I don't think 1" offsets would increase bump steer to much.

Man she was throwing those rocks at me like popcorn. I was dreading those corners cuz it would get worse. I was in 5th gear and she said she was in 4th. I was seeing what all she and that quad had.
Ha Ha, I could hear you behind me, but I was concentrating on not becoming a hood ornament after that first truck we almost piled into on that little jaunt. If I had known it was a test, I would have tried harder. I still had some more throttle, but we were cruising right along at a good clip. It was a great break in ride.

I have 4+1 wheels with the sag of my elkas it gets wide. too wide. It was not that easy to cruise the trails in follow the leader. so im tonna go with my 1+4 trail wheels next trip and feel the difference.

I dunno.. *shakin head* Aint thats what ATVs are ment to do? Get dirty and pound off the rocks? Unless you live next to the dunes or got tons of traveling time, You gotta be able to trail your quad. or you like to spend excessive amounts of cash at a track. Its just not right to have a quad in your garage that dont get down n dirty now n agin...
