Goldendale race, I need to ride in the class below amateur. I rode the mx track at Thurston County one time for one lap, boy I didn't know what the hell I was doing. Hope the mx portion of the course is only 1/4 of the entire course or I will be in big trouble, wonder if there is a time limit? I will be there Saturday morning practicing, I hope somebody that knows what they're doing can tell me how to take certain jumps, table tops and such. The only thing I know about a table top is it's where we have Thanksgiving dinner at.

if your not ready to air it out on a jump, you can always roll it. after a few times through the track you'll see how to use the power to make it easier on yourself & let the bike take the beating instead of you.
take a look at the track info & picture, average track width is 30 feet. the GP course is narrower in parts, but passing is not a problem on most of it.
always remember, it's just one lap at a time in this kind of race... then someone else on your team gets to go beat themself up for a lap while you rest!

supergumby5000- you need to talk your dad into going camping in goldendale on the weekend of April 24th-25th! i know you've said you want to try racing... here's your chance!
also, i must tell everyone that plans on going: get competition tear-offs for your goggles, they irrigate sections of the track & it's always muddy in spots. these usually aren't too expensive, but are worth thier weight in gold when you're in traffic in a muddy area... such as the start & portions of the MX track.
something really cool about this track is that you see it from about a mile or more on the highway when you're driving to it. it's carved into a big grassy hillside & ridge just a short distance from highway 97.
it's still 3 months away & i'm pumped to go!

I'm seriously considering riding in that race! I'd like to have my son on my team, but Mrs. Toyz isn't sure she wants Toyz Jr. riding in a race... Moms... whatcha gonna do??? I need to work on her a little... She only has heard stories about my riding in the Desert 100 and all the carnage along the trail... The start of the race is like a scene out of a mad-max movie. Last year they had to air-lift quite a few people out to Spokane that weekend... She doesn't want Toyz Jr. to get hurt...
Quite honestly I think he'd be fine if he didn't start the race, but just rode a lap or two... I'm sure she'll change her mind.
My days at the desert 100 were few but I think they're over, this race sounds a lot more fun.
I'd like to go practice on the track too... Let's set up a date if we can.
