the desert 100 is a motorcycle race held in the vantage area, usually about 100 miles long. the starts are a standard desert race start... they line all the bikes up & everyone goes at once... thus it does look like a scene from a mad max flick... if you go to a desert race in california or nevada, chances are that's the way they'll do the start.
from what i've surmised about goldendale, they allow run of the full course on MX playdays unless it states no running of the GP course(no GP). march 20-21 they have MX playdays scheduled. the 26-28 is the WORCS race there. see the OTBG '04 Calendar
chances are it'll be a pretty tame race, some of the things such as the start will be sorted out on race day at the riders meeting. the starting gate will take around 20 quads.... in september we had 14 on it & it wasn't full. so go for it & bring your son!
they have another course there outside of goldendale called Starvation Ridge, they haven't run quads on it because it previously was not quad frendly due to some gnarly rock sections... but most of them have been made passable or routed around, of the course 90 % can be ridden on a quad. they said they are looking for a group of quad riders that would be willing to try it & work with them sometime this spring?? anyone? sounds like fun!

I have a question about the Poker run in May, do they have seperate classes or do they let everyone run together? I am planning on participating but don't want to get run over by all of you Raptor riders.
Is anyone riding Tahuya on the 7th or 8th of Febuary? I was thinking of taking the Howell Lake Loop.
Ride Safe
Cool, now I can add more photo's.

poker runs don't usually have classes since it's not really a competition event, it's about having a fun ride together & maybe winning some stuff. it's pretty relaxed- usually the faster & more ambitious riders will line up to leave first. everyone is equal in the fact that they all have to draw cards at the checkpoints there's no incintive to run another rider over. they do have different loops short, long & a real short one for kids.
