I have seen/heard some better things from them. I am honestly asking this. Would a union help keep your job/position if you got hurt? Would it just be up to that company to let you come back when healed?

I have a great job, that is non union. I go out get hurt on my time. They save my job for me, give me light duty, and then drop a bucket fiddy in my pocket. My first check had a huge raise, and I wouldn't have ever ask(or thought possible) a raise this summer.
Congrats on the raise Joel! That's great news!
Good companies with good owners will not try to rape their employees and in return they get very loyal employees!

This is a FAIR statement also..........
Unions are HERE today for a reason. IMO what Rancher described doesn't exist for the most part, Union Employers/Employees have UNBENDABLE rules the employers/employees have to abide by, If not it's 3 strikes and YOUR OUT and Union Employers KNOW how to make it stick when it comes to firing an undesirable employee.

TP's employer sounds like a VERY FAIR business owner and knows HOW to take care of the people that take care of him............THAT'S why a union ISN'T needed in his case.
OK, Gonna hi-jack this thread one last time then shut-up I promise.

All contracts are not "UNBENDABLE". Many have a lot of give and take on various issues that are negotiated on a case by case basis between the company and the union. Area to manuver is important to give some flexability for many issues. EQUAL TREATMENT of all employees is probably the most inflexable part of any contract and must be observed by the union and the company at all times. Termination of employment may occure on a first violation in some cases, usually involving theft or violance, or after many more minor infractions over a long period of time. Most contracts require purging of minor infractions from an employees records if no violations occure for an agreed upon period of time and the employee then has a "clean slate". Most contracts also require a series of steps involving verbal, written and written documented to the union warnings followed by disiplinary time off, reduction in pay and/or other actions prior to termination. Many contracts also require counseling or retraining where appropriate. Most terminations of employment are looked upon, at least in any company I have been involved with, as a major failure on the part of management and the skills of the people involved. End of rant. Of course, after multiple uses, it will get worn down alittle and if you let it get too black and dry, it won't come very clean. I used it on my tractor wheels, worked great and it's alot faster than by hand. I don't like to polish by hand, way too much work, besides, my scrawny wrists get sore and tired
Bump just for MB for using CAPS

Morning PSAR

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THE DAD'S OUT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it was a GOOD night @ the races last night was nice to be at an OUTDOOR one!!! Bill & boys(yes Randy too ) good to see you too GOOD JOB everyone racing!!!!!!! Hope Randy is feeling ok, he was limping pretty good last night I can just imagine what it will be like the next couple days!!! He'll probably be limping into the shop for some CLASS C tires

DJ had a GOOD night also He ran the 4-stroke open & Open Quad classes, he got 1-1 in the one class & had a chitty start in the heat of the other so that set him on the back row for the main start NOT a good place to start w/ a sea of 450's that ALL run good in front of you!! But he had a good time & rode Eleanore's shoes off almost literally haha man taht clay is HARD on the ol' Hoosiers!!!!Wish I had some pics but we do have video I MIGHT try to upload sometime & share it is AMAZING how fast them guys are going, makes me a little nervous, 1st time seeing him race on a BIG track w/ it but he does ride it dang good!!
In his 4 stroke open class he was running 2nd behind Jeramiah & going into turn 3 the other quad slowed in the turn & DJ was going in HOT right behind him & he ran right up his rear tire SCARY MOMENTS THERE, he saved it but then spun it out on the high side & killed it he said it brought back flashbacks of his big wreck @ Rainier a couple years ago!!! THANK GOD he saved it cuz he was flying!!! So needless to say once he got it fired up he was in the back of the pack but oh well @ least he was safe!!!!!!!!!!

Well everyone have a GREAT day looks like GREAT weather!!!!!!!! We will be heading to the big A town this evening whoohoo

Took the boat out today for the first time. Put in at Day Island, went under the Narrows Bridge, around Point Defiance, then down Ruston, over to Browns Point, back by Vashon Island, past Gig Harbor, and then back.

It was very nice

I need to grade the last of my papers. School is out next Friday, and I need to have my grades done. UGH!

Then I get to pack for our camping trip. The boys and I are going to tent it down to the Redwoods and work our way up north again. We'll finish off meeting Josh and the girls at Coos Bay the 30th. The weather is supposed to kick butt that weekend!

If anyone is interested in a spot at Horsfall June 29 - July 4 ($109.) let me know a.s.a.p. A friend of ours can't go. Again the weather should be super!

Hope all you dads had a great day!

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there. Wild, TM and my wife and I went to Middle Waddell for a ride today it was a lot of fun. It is nice to have my own quad back. I even rode Wilds Raptor around for a little while. Just enough to get soaking wet and muddy Well I hope everybody had a good weekend. It is back to the grind tomorrow. I am gonna watch a movie and hit the rack early. G/N PSAR!
