Just thought I'd stop in and post a quick hello and introduction. My wife and I are brand new riders and just bought two new Recons. We're in the Lake Stevens area and looking for any advice for a good, fairly uncrowded places to learn to ride. I've ridden some in years past but she's never ridden. We're mostly interested in trail riding. Any advice or suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!

Hi & welcome to the forums & the ATV world AS for riding up North there is WAlker Valley(Mt Vernon area) & we go to Darrington ALOT!! It is some good riding out there especially for newbie riders that are looking to become one w/ thier machines it is logging roads & you can also veer off on trals too!! To get there take I-5 to the Arlington/Darrington exit, go to Hwy 9 & turn left take your FIRST right & follow the hwy out to Darrington when you come into town you turn left @ the 4 way stop, go to Sauk Praire Rd. & turn right(saw mill) follow out to the "T" in the road & go left, you can just follow that road which turns to gravel & find a spot to offload or follow all the way to the campground & offload there, then just go cruising HOpe this helps some, there is also Rieter Pit out @ Goldbar!!

We also live in the Lake Stevens area maybe we can hook up sometime & go for a putt w/ ya It is me(400ex), my hubby Ron(450R), my son DJ(300ex), & youngest son Trevor (Kasea 50) LMK w/ a private message or just post up here if you have any ?'s
Have a good day & once again WELCOME ABOARD!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the advice. We wondered up to Walker Valley yesterday afternoon and had a blast. Was a little indimidating first time out with all the "pros" around. But once we got going and had 30 minutes under our belts we were having a blast. TONS of trails and lots of challenges.

I know I'm pretty far away from the most of you up north in the hustle bustle [traffic], and glad to be living in the country where I do.

Thanks for the welcome...

A little about me and what I and my son enjoy...

I enjoy trail riding and extreme cross country challenges. Mainly the latter of the two. I have cut miles and miles of nicely groomed trails over the years where I live. I make the trails without [trying not to] cutting living trees/plants. If trees are in the way, I find a different route. Over the years I thinks I've cut about 15 miles weaving through the timberlands, across the valleys and ridges. It's a neat thing to ride where other riders have no clue the trails are even there. My trail system starts just behind my property. It allows me to ride from my place and connect to roads that lead clear up to Shelton and beyond.

I'm always looking for challenges where no quad has been.

Are there any group rides coming in the near future ??

I have a family that loves to go play on the weekends.
Then you need to ride over to Shelton sometime soon and some of us from this side will meet up with you and learn these trails from you. Always looking for new places to ride.
