I have my 400EX up for sale on Craigslist, I get a person who is interested in buying it. He sends me the following e-mail:

will be done at address provieded by you...ok? this is why you will be
recieving an overdraft payment,then you will be sending the balance back via
western union to the shipping company,so a representative can be sent to
come do pickup at you address after they must have recieved thier funds,you
can have $100 extra just to compensate for the little stress this might
cause.
Here are some of the details I will need for final assurance of the payment
to you.
(1) Full Name
(2) Mailing address, no p.o.box please
(3) your direct telephone number

Once you get back to me with! all the above, the payment will be issued out
immediately and it will be ! sent to you . Hope to hear from you
immediately.

At first glance it looks too good to be true, right? So, other than giving my private info out< what am I missing?

This is the exact same scam, as used on ebay. Delete that email and never buy in to that scam. The try to end up with the machine and only pay shipping.

Ask yourself this. Would I buy a used quad, sight unseen, over the internet? NO

 

Nick, it's a known scam that Aholes have been running on both ebay and craigs list don't send them any of your personal info, I am sure you have already figured this out.

I asked myself that very same question. Its a good scam I'll give em that. I read the scam warning on Craigslist and it said the same thing. If its too good to be true, then it is too good to be true!
