So Hap, did we get lost trying to find our way back again ?? Sorry we missed all the fun, but we will try again next time.
We were only lost for about an hour. I don't know what happened after we left.

Happa is never "LOST", just disoriented once in a while.
"LOST" is such a harsh term. I really prefer "Exploring new and interesting territory".

Trust me the pic flatters it, It doesn't compare to your guys Palace's on wheels but it will get the job done.

It's decent for the dollar, I didn't want to get much money tied up in another RV, Julie says I'm getting a little snug with the money in my old age

Well, Mike (Tencubed) had an air compressor and 5 gallons of gas, Dennis had a tow strap and handsaw and there was enough fire power to stop a heard of elephants, guess you could say it took four of them to replace one of you

I personally missed you on this ride, it was right up your alley

Now it reads better, I need to start proof reading my posts

Afternoon' PSAR,

Well Julie & I now own a pretty decent old Truck camper It's a 1985 Western Wilderness 10.5' fully self contained and every thing works. It also has a solar panel to charge the house batts for dry camping

So now when we go to the Dunes we won't have to Motel it any more and we will have our own place to hang if it turns nasty
CONGRATS now your offical campers......
Thanks Big D and Hap,

Now I just need to come up with a reasonable priced quiet little 1000 to 2000 watt gennie to take care of the 110 V needs. I also need to come up with a small flat panel TV that wall mounts and install a DVD player for the rainy day and night time entertainment needs then it will be home on the road

The camper is nothing special to look at inside or out but it's fairly clean and very solid. The guy was pretty liberal with the sealant around the doors and windows(read thick azzed beads) but at least he kept up on
the maintenance and so far thru yesterday and last nights rain I have found no leaks
We have tried various "quiet" gensets for use on our old camper and came to the conclusion that the Honda units are the best all around buy. They cost a bit more than some of the others but are truly quiet and, most importantly, work when you need them. We run a 5000 BTU air conditioner nearly full time, to keep the mutt cool in the camper, while traveling and went from the sorta cool RV refrigerator to a 110 volt household type. With this load the EU2000i uses about one gallon of gas each 10 hours of run time.

Depending on which photocell array you have you may or may not have enough power to use much in the way of lighting and such. Many of these arrays are designed to maintain the camper battery(ies) during periods of non use. Like when the rig is parked and just killing the grass. We have a battery charger that comes on when the genset or shore power is hooked up to maintain the house battery. I no longer even have the house battery hooked to the pickup and have gone to just one battery for the camper which makes battery maintenance much easier. With the availability of 110 nearly all the time we seldom use the 12 volt lights so the major battery killer is the water pump. The new flourescent screw in light bulbs use such a small amount of power the load on the genset is minimal and you can actualy see inside and, if wanted, outside the camper at night.

EDIT: List of the stuff SWMBO (also known as Sweetums and Linda) uses on a regular basis in the camper: sterio, laptops, printer, hair dryer, microwave, blender, mixer and coffee maker. Not all at once, I have finally got her educated about total wattage currently in use.

We really enjoy our old camper, like you say it may not be much to look at and, in our case, the pickup is older than a lot of the people in PSAR but is sure beats sleeping on the ground in a tent.

Enjoy your "new" rig, your gonna have a blast.
