Hello,
I just joined this forum and I'm looking for information on places to ride. Let me tell you a little bit about my family and me. There are 6 of us in all. My husband and I are in our 30's, we have two children ages 6 & 11, and my parents are in their 50's. We always ride and camp all together. We have a 50,90,2 250 utility quads, and just yesterday we bought a '06 Artic Cat DVX 400. We have a Class C 29 foot motor home and we're looking for somewhere to camp with access to trails.
Last week we went camping/riding in Sand Lake. We really enjoyed riding there. We went in the middle of the week so we found a spot. Is it usually full on the weekends? And is it more rowdy on weekends?
I know this is crazy but we're hoping to go camping/riding next weekend. I know.......Labor Day weekend and everyone else is thinking the same thing. But my husband is on vacation so we could leave on Tuesday. Do you have any suggestions for first-come campgrounds? Do you think we could get a spot at the Sand Beach campground?
Thanks,
Cari

I believe you have to have a permit on holiday weekends at Sand Lake and they only issue a certain amount. It will likely be a zoo down there. After school starts it isn't as bad, but the locals fill it up on the weekend quite a bit when the weather is nice.
Most of the campgrounds that are federal and state are booked online now, with no first come first serve spots. You can check the websites for ReserveUSA or Reserve America that have up to date reservation info and contact info.
A group of us is going to Coos Bay the following weekend from Sept 7-11.

Oh yeah, and TP is turning OLD this weekend.
Good afternoon PSAR. Late getting on the puter today.
Sounds like the weekend is going to be a busy one for some folks. Hope everyone heals up for Monday after the "Old Man" party.
Welcome to the area Cari! You will find every kind of rider is represented on this forum and they all get along and ride together. I am quite new to this sport and have found this to be the friendliest group on the net. Visit often and post a lot, everyone seems to want to know what is going on.

How bout Moses Lake? Is that good riding? Do they have a camping area? If so, is it accessible with a motor home? Does it get wild and crazy there? I have to ask that question because we'll be going on a holiday weekend with our two children.
