YES.......I know this portion of road VERY well..........The VERY first fatality accident I unfortunately had to witness (1 of a long line of many).....

I'm heading for Lake Havasu, A guy (I'm guessing, cause their wasn't much left of him) past me doing about 100/120 mph in a camaro (right off interstate 10 on hwy 177 towards Parker) about 15 miles (of my travel time) I see a flash in the distance (it's 1:00am in the morning) and i see what looks like a fire as i get closer, this (accident scene) car was almost burned out. BUT I could tell it was an auto accident (skid marks and debre) I walk out about 200 or so feet into the desert and this camaro was TOAST. The body had been ejected and was MANGLED (I didn't look real hard cause it wasn't moving AT ALL) I had to drive into Earp and call the CHP and report the accident, then return to the scene so the cops had an idea of where this wreck was.
Long story short IF any of the teenagers (or adults) that drive (or are gonna start driving) want a good reason to slow down and pay attention when driving, WELL You know what I'm gonna say.........

Sorry for the story BUT it's true and real and most of all; IT WORKED FOR ME.........

Kim, I dont' know how you keep your nerves down. I'm glad to hear that he is ok. That would of been a bummer if somebody was coming south. Scary thing that's for sure

Rod it was the brown truck [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] Ron said now we may just put the brown motor in the "your" truck, & cut the bed off of brownie & make a trailer out of it, that way DJ will have 1/2 of his favorite truck anyway LOL he/we can use it to haul, a small trailer like that would be nice, but we will have to see!!

OFC I TOTALLY agree on the kids havning nice cars haha see we don't even have to turn this into insurance since the truck isn't worth fixing [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] I think I jacked the deductible up to $1000 anyway, he still have his Buick but once again that's just a 1984 & ain't nothin special about it [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] IF/WHEN he drives again, now I"m pretty nervous [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img]

DJ said "THANKS Mom" now he know's I race quads LOL OH WELL!!!

 

i had to go back and see what was going on...... glad to hear your boy is ok..... now i think im second guessing mine getting his licence i dont let him ride in cars with friends as it is.....
