Default Puget Sound/Seattle NW Area Riders Meet HERE!!!

The odd thing is that it did run and strong prior to this little episode. The builder may shed some light on the topic... I just don't want to damage the crank.

They tried it after they sheared the second key.

Did they see if there was a problem? The pattern after lapping for just a few minutes will tell all.
Everything looks good, they just can't get the thing to start without shearing the key right away.

Because of the aggressive cams and cam timing, it does backfire. It shears the key at this point. However, the motor did run with this set-up down at the dunes and it ran good, so I'm not tempted to change that part.

I'll talk to Doug Nicholas and see if there is anything he's done to the crank and fly wheel where an OEM fly-wheel can't be used.

Ask him about some type of 2 step ign timing module that will retard the timing while cranking so it doesn't want to kick back so hard.
