CLOUT ALERT!!! IAC Study will result in banning OHV use on your own private property?
As you may know, 85% of the Nonhighway Off Road Vehicle Activities (NOVA)
funds now go to the hikers. That came about the same way that the
Anti-Motorized, Anti-Access (Sierra Club/WTA, etc.) people are now planning
to ban the use of your OHV on your own private property!
How do they do this? Just follow their well proven 10 step program -
1) Spend a large amount of money to have professional lobbyists whine
continually to the legislators about some perceived OHV problem.
2) Whine some more and try to get legislation passed that will regulate OHV
use out of existence.
3) Get intolerant, non-sharing people in Thurston County (Olympia is in
Thurston Co.) to whine to their anti-OHV County Commissioners (yep, same
people who closed Thurstion Co. ORV park)
4) Get the Thurston Co. commissioners to pass a very discriminatory county
ordinance regulating OHV use on private property out of existence in
Thurston Co.
5) Whine some more to the legislators and propose the very discriminatory
Thurston Co. ordinance as a state-wide solution.
6) COMPROMISE in the legislature to fund a study of the problem.
7) Be sure the study will be contracted/conducted by the IAC (same agency in
charge of the phony fuel use study) that stole your NOVA funds for
non-motorized hikers.
8) Bring a biased anti-motorized consulting firm in to do the "study."
9) Have the IAC staff bring biased anti-motorized consulting firm's
recommendations to the legisltature
10) Use paid lobbyists to whine to the legislature some more so a bill is
passed regulating OHV use on private property out of existence.
THE FOLLOWING TEXT WAS RECEIVED DIRECTLY FROM THE IAC -
"To persons interested in ORV noise issues:
In recent years, off-road vehicle (ORV) noise has become a hot topic in some
places in Washington State.
To respond, the Washington State Interagency Committee for Outdoor
Recreation (IAC) is looking for your input on how best to address ORV noise
in both residential and non-residential areas. Come tell us what you think
at one of two workshops to be held October 10th and 19th at the locations
listed below.
At the request of the state legislature, IAC staff is examining ORV noise
regulations and related enforcement around the country. At the workshops, a
team of experts under contract to IAC will present several options for
addressing noise, and some of benefits of each approach. We hope you will
attend a workshop to share your knowledge about ORV noise and provide
comments on the various options.
Your input will help develop ORV education and training approaches, model
ordinances, and other recommendations for fair, practical, and effective
ways to address this important issue.
If you plan to attend, so that we can have enough materials and refreshments
on hand, please RSVP to this automated link:

I got a 400ex. I've had it for about a year and i'm not bored with it. If you plan on dune riding i would recommend something faster but for trails it's perfect. Although i would rather have a 450r because of the suspension. He can buy mine when (if) my wife lets me get a renegade.
I am not bored with my 400ex. the z400 is just a cooler quad. the z400 is not in my pics because i have been banned from ridding it. the last time i rode it i bent an a-arm and put a flat spot in the frame.she says i have my own quads for that.

AS for a 400ex thats what my hubby got when we all got quads 6 yrs ago, he lOVES his 400, never had any issues w/ it theya re bullet proof!! WE only put a 426 piston in it last year, that is pretty good for the riding it had on it, you can always give them more CC's we got him a 450R this past summer & to be honest he likes the 426 better!!! Too bad for him though cuz it's MINE now!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've rode the 450 & don't like it either, but I LOVE the Yammi 450 she's got LOTS more grunt you can find 400ex's for good prices now, around $2500-$3500 for a good one w/ lots of extras!!
Good luck w/ your search And don't forget about the 300 I have for YOU!! most forgiving quad you'll ever ride!!
you got a price on that 300 yet? once i get one then the recon will go to my daughter and we can sell hers...but we still need to get the truck back together to sell it lol we got to sell to buy hahaha
my daughters quad has weird suspention on it no one likes to ride it....but it does awsome on the trails....we only started ridin the quads 3 yrs ago before that it was scooters now im hooked and will NEVER go back hahaha
