More and more I see why "The way of the turtle", slow and easy, is wise. All the damage from years past make even the easy rides memorable in the discomfort department the next day.

One major spill like what is being talked about would simply kill me now. No ambulances, helicopters, medics or such. Just spade up the area and plant a tree.

Michael and I went riding at straddaline ...fun stuff...on the way down sat morning the transmission takes a dump about 10 miles out of town...So I finally track down a tow truck that can haul my truck and trailer with out it costing a fortune....get to the shop around 11:30 (this is where it is nice to work at a tranny shop) pull my old unit out and stab a new one in take a quick test drive and hook back up to the trailer at 2:15 and to the track by 3:30...still got enough riding in to be plenty sore today and dont have to worry about the tranny on the trip to coos for thanksgiving...

and btw who else is going to coos turkey day???????

Wow, good thing you have the skills and resources available to you to do that! It is a bummer that you had to do it, but as you said, good thing it happend now rather than on the way to coos.
