I think I'm the first one back from the ladies' ride. I had to bring Ricky back early. We could not have had a lovelier day (for March!) It was sunny and gorgeous for the ride. We left the staging area, headed over to Porter Creek, stopped at Wedekind, popped up to the antenna farm at Capital Peak (OMG it was so clear you could see Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, and another mountain in the distance), then back down to the staging area via B-1000 and B-1300. Ooohh, and I got to be "line leader" - yippee!

I think everybody is to tired from today to get on here and post. Plus some are leaving for Beverly early in the a.m.
Couldn't ask for better weather, yahoo. LAIDIES had a 3 hour tour, all to themselves. The guys putted around camp and rode with the kids. Then cooked up a gazillion burgers. Huge thanks to Happ and Hottie for the burgers, buns, tomatoes (which my kids are still eating ), etc. Some of us (me) owe you big time. Your food on the next trip will be compliments of me, Thanks Val Gal .
While the gals were out, nothing exciting happen. Oh wait, yes it did, and I have pictures to prove it . Somebody (a guy of course), ended up playing chicken with a car. And chickened out, ended up off the road and in the bushes, had to ride out to through the bushes instead of going up the embankment back to the road. After about 15 minutes, still wasn't back at camp. Somebody did mention " I hope he didn't get lost in the bushes" . So out the search party went, found him right on the other side of the bushes from the parking area. With a puzzled look on his face he says "How do you get back to camp", so I replied "it's just on the other side of these bushes". We were so close to them, some heard the converstation. LOL. So this individual will get a special award at the next get together.
Also, the funniest thing. As I'm riding down the road, I notice my buddy Don stopped in the middle of the road playing with something. It was a grouse. He had his hand out and the Grouse was pecking at and walking around it. Funniest part was that he actually caught the darn thing, guess you had to be there.
After eating, the guys conned the ladies into letting us take a "short" 1/2 hour ride, he he.. About 6 miles up the road, had somebody miss a corner and go down about 8' embankment and almost into the creek. On his way down and over, the quad hit him in the back. He got a pretty big bruise and was in pain and very uncomfortable. Didn't appear (hopefully) to be hurt really bad, i.e. nothing broken or bleeding. We ended up bringing him back up to the road. Two of us rode back to camp and got a truck to bring him and his quad back. A few others manhandled and rode his quad back up the bank. Honestly I don't even know who it was. If anybody knows and/or has a phone number, I would like to call and see how he is doing? Or give us an update if you know.
Everybody packed up and was on the road home by about 5:00 or so ??????
Overall, it was a great and fun day. Only to be topped tomorrow by the Beverly run, you guys have a great time and RIDE SAFE......

Geezzz, I wonder who that could have been that met that car at 50 mph and ran off the road, down the embankment into the bushes and trees? All I can say is watch out for the curves, cars like to drive on the wrong side or down the center while sightseeing. A broken headlight bracket was the only victim, so off went the stock lights, just gonna leave them off.
Oh to clarify, the car was coming out of a curve, the unkown rider was on a straight section, getting ready to head into the curve, high speed curve that is. Hang on an hope for the best, yeee hawww
Great ride, thanks to everybody for making it happen.
