Floats on a Rappy are a pain in the azz, trying to get the fuel level using the tube method exactly where I want it is near impossible. I want it level or 1/8th" above the mating surface, closest I can get is 3/16th" above, those tangs are extemely touchy, but I have devised a system where the tank and carbs are set up on my workbench, both setting upright at the proper angle, works really sweet. I guess as long as the bowls aren't emptying out at WOT, or bogging down uphill, they're alright.

I rode red all my life, 1970 CL70, 1971 CL350, 1966 305 Scrambler, 1984 VFR 750. I will say this Rappy does keep me busy, now I need to find a new clutch perch, disassembled the stock one, got rid of all the junk. Getting ready for Sandlake, new sprockets, chain, JTM extension 4.5"

Is that a bolt on extension? I have heard real bad things with those. They come loose and can bend also.
