That sucks that they haven't fixed that yet. My sister in laws friend lives up by the new costco and she doesn't have lights either. My sister in law had to bring 10 gallons up to her for the horses. The power line is right over her road the the PUD company won't even move it so she can get out of her driveway. I don't know what is wrong with them. I thought you would have your power back on Jayna. They were saying on the news that ALL power would be back on today.

Jayna you are more than welcome to come take a shower or get water at my house. I'm probably the closes one to you with power. My brother doesn't even have a generator or power. I hope he has a fire going and is sleeping right next to it. That house gets COLD. Let me know if you need anything, i mean it too.

I am confused, I understand power and heat, but don't you have running water?

Water is on a well. Well pump runs on 220v. a 5500 Generator would(and has) just run my well, hot water, fridge, and some lights, but the last time it was done my uncle, (the electrician) disconnected the commercial power feed and wired the genny into the breaker box. It was a direct wire thing and he took it out when I got the power issue fixed. I don't know how to do it. I want to install a transfer switch, which allows you to plug in a genny to the house and cut off feedback to the commercial lines. Just hadn't gotten to it. It's going to be a project soon.

WQ, Thanks for the offer. I have lots of drinking water and just needed water for a shower. Melting snow works for now. I have a camp water heater from my horse trailer for hot showers. I am doing better than a lot of people at this point thanks to the borrowed genny. I am toasty with the woodstove and can cook on it quiet nicely. I will give a holler if I need anything else.
Hopefully PUD will get out here soon. This isn't even really the boonies. I really feel bad for the folks that are way out and without power. Nothing like camping at home. At least I am usually stocked up for Armageddon so I have supplies and equipment on hand.

Well, one son and daughter-in-law are now in Mazatlan with 80 Deg. temps. Other kids are over by Goldendale with 10 Deg and strong east winds. We're in mild Seattle with 25 or so Deg. and no wind. At least we all have power, water and rigs that will get us around if we need too. Our 4 year old grandson is with us this week. Keeping SWMBO and I on our toes and busy. One small boy can sure use up a lot of time and effort.

I find it amazing how many people around here have failed to do any winter preparation and now have frozen water lines and other problems. Most of the homes here in the park have above ground water hook-ups and over half of them are frozen. No heat tape or insulation and this after the manager put notices on everyones doors over a month ago. Now they want him to come and get their water running. Then they get all pizzy when he tells them it's not his problem. Even the lease they sign covers this. Couple of people have run out of propane so no heat and they want the poor old manager to go get them more fuel. Really amazing.
