wow! the Hott in my last post was no bull chips. The Kody's air filter caught fire when I was starting it The wife was right there when it went down, screaming "do you want some water?"

I ripped off my hoodie and extinguished the flames in a jiffy (popcorn) All is well, it just needs a new foam filter.

the secrets (it must be, cause no one told Donna Juan) when replacing mechanical seals and shafts in water pumps is this... don't use multiple gaskets, more is not gooder, and install the entire contents of the box that the mechanical seal comes in

Kymmy, I'm gonna clean the carb and drain the old fuel out and install a gallon of fresh Those along with the new choke plunger assembly, the kodylack should be near tip top lolly pop status

Ronny also requested an oil change, so that will be done after I can get it to run long and well enough to thoroughly warm the old oil.

Holy cow mister I"m SKEERRRTTTTTT but THANKS for saving her!!!! Why did the air filter catch fire was there fuel on it?? Think that was a new filter but oh well NO biggie do I need to purchas a new one? Wonder what a K&N would run for that
It's probably similar to the Wolvie, which is about $40 or so in Fleabay. Haven't researched if that includes the adapter thingy to bolt up to the air filter.

I'll pick up an ultra reliable uni-filter (foam) they are gooder for trail type of riding. The filter lit off when the kody backfired
i loved uni-foam for trails,,,,hard to beat,,,,and lower maintenance

He did roll over a perfectly good toyota, in the middle of his street, in an almost straight strech, in a 35mph zone. If that doesn't bring a little ribbing, you haven't "peeps".

~Reiter Report~

Compact snow/ice from HWY 2 with a few patches of clear road. I spent about an hour with a crew from Stump Jumpers and Reiter Trail Watch clearing trees from the upper staging area road. Tree limbs are hanging low because of the snow, but I drove the dually all the way through. The enclosed trailer is staying home... Those only with 2wd should be ok if you don't have a huge trailer.

We're good to go for the upper staging area.

I drove up the upper road for just a bit and turned around. Had to drive under one tree and it's limbs touched the top of the truck. It didn't look like too many people had gone up there yet.

well, the KOdylack is alive I let it run for a little bit (due to a choke plunger missing) I move it forward, but it has no clue about the reverse gear Fresh fuel was indeed the answer, I dropped some Sta-Bil in the tank too. No water leaks noted while I was watching like a hawk.

The radiator is getting a good soaking with simple green to knock all that crusted dirt loose. Then it is getting the fin straightner taken to it. Lots of leaves to pick up, One 5 gallon pail so far....werk in progress. Dabble for a bit, come in and thaw out, dabble some more I'll getter dialed. Might change the oil the next trip out there
