This is Val, I have been watching this most of the afternoon. Kinda sad actually but not a surprise.

Ten- it's Anna Nicole Smith, Playmate, some years back.
Rod- the baby will inherit the money or so the legal mumbo jumbo is saying on CNN and Foxnews.

She would have never gotten over her son's death a few months ago so at least she will not have to try to deal with that now and hopefully the baby will have a more normal life now (after they determine which of the two guys that are claiming to be her dad is figured out). I think it's sad tho no matter what she did .... JMO

 

Of course the baby will get the money but watch a big fight over who is the real father!
I see paternity tests coming soon!

Calibration is done by the manufacturer and I believe the instructions for mine say send it back to be calibrated. With that said, I had the sheriff down at Coos Bay do a sound check on my bike and at that time I compared the readings from their db meter to mine... they matched. I also checked the vibra-tach (sirometer) I was using as well (from Brigs and Stratton).

I have one from radio shack and I believe (without checking) the weighting needs to be on the 'c' range rather than 'a'. The 'a' range will indicate a higher db on the quads. 'a' and 'c' weightings are just different frequency ranges.

The prescribed method is as follows:
1/2 manufactures RPM measuring at 20" at 45 degrees from the exhaust tip. The funny part about the 1/2 manufactures RPM is that the book that looks this up indicates a lower RPM than what the manufacturer states... go figure. The net result is a lower db reading for you anyway. The Siuslaw National Forest will send you a book of all the ATV models and RPM's if you call them and request one.

 

I have a bunch of old equipment I'm getting rid of and will be putting it on e-bay in a few weeks. A few items may be of interest to some of you folks so will offer them here and another atv board first. Three old project trucks, a 37 Chev ton and a half, missing the grill, body straight, engine junk. 1948 (I think) Ford F150 duelly. Everything is there and engine turns over but no compression, probably stuck valves. Truck had been repainted and trim never put back on. Last a 56 Ford F250, no engine, has a dump bed and needs windshield and door glass. Seat and door handles inside are junk. For sale or trade. PM me if you are interested.
