Arriving at Beverly at 11:20 this morning to find the camping area blocked off by ambulances and a helicopter we discovered a 12 yr old boy ( est ) was riding a raptor 80 ( from the looks of it but far off ) the raptor rolled 4 times crushing the boy. The paramedics tried to keep him alive to heart flight ( helicopter (unsure of what its called) arrived but by the time it arrived the boy was already gone. The parents showed up about a hour or less later. I cant imagine the pain that family must be in. Please becarefull with your children and with whom they ride.

We stopped for gas Vantage and spoke with another guy that told us a 5 yr old boy was riding up a hill with his father when the Ute flipped over on them both landing on the small boy. His condition is not known at this time. The guy who told us said that he was white as a ghost so the outcome is not looking good. Once again. Becareful with your children. I am sure you know tihs already.
I hate to hear this .....I always worry when My girls are riding.....but you can't keep them in a bubble...

Sorry to hear about the injured children. That is so sad!

At the paystation of the East lot at Sandlake, they have a poster that says, "Ride Smart, Children under 18 must wear a helmet!" or words to that effect. The picture on the poster is of me and Ricky all geared up (he looks so little and CUTE) from last fall. We didn't even see the Rangers take that pic.

It was kind of cool to see my little guy was literally the poster child for safety gear.

Default Puget Sound/Seattle/Northwest Area Riders Meet HERE!!!

Thursday AM, the kids and I headed down to Sandlake for my first ever solo drive on the trailer.

Made it there no problems at all. Started to air down the tires to pull out on the sand, but I chickened out. I parked in the east lot near a wonderful duner named Ricky - really nice helpful person. Thursday was beautiful, we wanted to ride - I realized I forgot my tools and there weren't any in the trailer. We'd cleaned them out before it went to the shop. OOPS! My neighbor helped get the flags on.

Then I realized I didn't have my tags on my preddy. ARGH! So I drove all over creation to get the $10 oregon OHV tag until I found mine. No way am I going to ride illegal - with my luck I would get stopped. No luck (it's a LONG sad story.) Crud, it's dinner time and no ride yet. Go to make dinner - genny won't work-YIKES! Well, by then, I have another duner on the other side of me and we are out under the 5th wheel trying to figure it out. Hmmmmmmm.

Genny will start with starting fluid, has a spark, but gas is not getting up to the carb. Fuel pump is working though. It's decided that the fuel filter must be clogged. Okayyyyyyyyyyy. My neighbor has a little genny that will keep my batteries hot, so we are good. Well, not exactly........

Turn the water pump on and water starts pouring out under the trailer. It worked before when the tree fell on it, so the consensus is that the lines froze when it was at the shop being repaired and we had that terribly cold weather. I can turn on the water pump and still use the toilet and sink, just not very good pressure and the ground gets wet. Okay, we can deal with that I say, so I just turn it on when I need water - no problem.

That night we took the pick up to the sand camp and had fun - this is just the first day. It'll get better, right?

My big crash,,,

Well I was taking this jump with some other young bucks when I got to cocky and had the throttle pinned all the way. I got about 5+ feet of air for over 12 feet and landed on the ONLY tree in the desert HA...Sorry tree's have it out for me. Well the quad slammed down on this bush tree, my body thrown into the handle bars and I didnt wanna let go so my feet went over my head and off I flew landing on my arm and head. So far counting 7 bruises and a possible broken colar bone cause its black and blue and PAIN..The bike is ok all the components and bars where thrown forward but they got fixed. All in all it was a fun crash. I hear it was an amazing site...crash included...I got almost as much air and distance and the guy on the dirt bike.
sorry to hear that ...get better soon...we have a ride in two weeks
Oh yeah dont worry...I am sure its just some bruised something or another..
