Old PSAR thread - please see the new one
Sorry i missed the festiities on Sunday. We woke up late for breakfast and we would havebeen rushing to get there by 7:30. So I asked my brother what he wanted to do. He said I'll se you in a couple hours, and went back to sleep! So Yeah. Slackin, I know!
Sounds like i meesed out on fun I had the craptor loaded in the F350 and was planin on scootin out to the Farmboy for a suprise appearance. but I overslept 4 hours by then it was like dammm no way i will catch em. so fabbed a new anchor for the boat.. seein as a rogue wave snapped ours off when your anchored in 5' of water and the waves start rollin thru 3-4 foot breakin. you should prolly moove.. but was catchin feesh. the we took green water with a breaker over the cab and it shot the boat up so fast with the achor sanded in it just snapped it off. figured that was prolly the time to head in good thing it was about 5 pm. we cought 21 sturgeon. i got six the other 3 in the boat had 5 apiece. got 4 keepers and threw back 4 more keeper size. biggest of the day was a lil 57"

If I lost an anchor in 5' of water I would just jump in and get it

LMAO. Have at it.. considering with the tide and wind we was prolly 100 yards away from the anchor in who knows what direction by the time we got all the lines reeled in. good luck finding it Bigger rope for next anchor line. 3/8 crab line aint good enough for the waves. 1/2" samson line should be sufficient. or the Danforth with a few feetr of chain up the rope A ways for shock absorber.

OK on second thought under those circumstances, I probably would have left it there myself, I figured it was close to your rig.

Woulda tried to snag it with my hooks before i jumped in I was wearin full grundens hercules with rubber boots. not the best swimmin atire. i know from experience. I got knocked off the boat by a brailer bag and good thing guy on crane seen me go over cuz the ocean is fockin cold. dropped the bag in and picked me out. treadin aint so easy though.
