Marv (Silver Ridge Ranch owner) is coming home tomorrow.....thats the good news....the bad news is that he is blind in both eyes.....
he has had surgery on the better of the two eyes, and it was unsuccessful, the staff infection had deteriorated 70% of that eye. They are scheduling his second surgery on the other eye to see if it will be any different sometime soon (keep in mind that the staff infection had more of an impact on the second one than the first), so the outlook is not very good.
I plan to offer some more help with the ranch, untill Marv is able to get around and semi functional......Im sure there will be some things that need to be modified due to lack of sight, and again the general day to day items that are slowly overwhelming Bud around the Ranch. If you can help I'm sure it would be appreciated, and the last three times we helped out the camping was paid for by the ranch as long as we were there to work. (but please dont count on this)

You get used to it, never thought I would but it happens. My son has not been anywhere too dangerous but he was in New York during the whole 9/11 horror. I thought I would just die at first though when he left for boot camp, I was a total wreck for awhile and also the letters you get are so sad because they miss home but they and you will adjust. You never stop worrying about them, even as they get older, my mom always told me that and I finally realized it for myself. It all fiinds it's place though.
Worst part for me is my son has been stationed back east and now loves it and has settled there for the most part instead of here where he was raised.
Hang in there, all you can do is support their decisions no matter what they are, I think that is the most important Makes us a little crazy as parents though sometimes definitely!!!

Sorry about that, I got ahead of myself.
It's hardly ever too hot for me to ride. My parents live in Eastern Wash. and I ride over there all summer long. They do live on a lake however, so when we're done riding we jump in the lake.
My son is going to be a Cavalry Scout, so he'll get to ride those lettle helicoptors and get dropped BEHIND enemy lines. How much fun is that?
Hollywood, how do you and Hap not worry about your son 24/7?
It will be a big adjustment for me.

Quiet on here today.
Hey Rod,
It is quiet here today, wonder where everyone is? I think your plan sounds good, I'm sure some others wil be up for it as long as it isn't too hot over there by then. I like the sand and Hap will go anywhere, lol.
BTW, my son is in the Marine Corp almost 13 years now

Well, Coos Bay was a blast! The weather and the riding were good, good, good as was the company. Had a great couple of rides Saturday and Sunday morning, got in late last night.

Actually I think it just depends on what those "full of hot air" posters are up to I don't have to mention names, you all know who you are

A Marine was deployed to Afghanistan. While he was there he received a letter from his girlfriend. In the letter she explained that she had slept with two guys while he had been gone and she wanted to break up with him. AND, she wanted pictures of herself back.
So the Marine did what any squared-away Marine would do. He went around to his buddies and collected all the unwanted photos of women he could find. He then mailed about 25 pictures of women (with clothes and without) to his girl friend with the following note: "I don't remember which one you are. Please remove your picture and send the rest back."
