LADYJ- I was listening to you take off and it sounds like you are too tall geared, for those tires. I wonder if you are infact slipping your clutch and just building too much heat. If you did not regear for those tires you may want to. If you have regeared, I bet we could open it up and find a failed/failing part.
Oh, I have a tomahawk and a hammer. It will split wood, but 5 cords is way too much. United Rentals rents them, but I have know clue of the duckets.</end quote></div>
So I am running 13/40(I think), and I am too stupit to think to check my gearing. I have run 13/41 since I got the quad, but don't think I really hashed out my gearing properly after the motor build. Now that you point that out, I am missing low end grunt alot and have to keep RPM's high. Hmmmmm....
Oh, and I found a log splitter to rent in Arlintown and the guy will give it to me over the holiday for the one day price of $65. Should make that chore do-able. WELL worth the money.

get 42 or 44 for the back and 12 for the front.. what the heck you need to go 70mph for? 60 is plenty fast.. ya spend most your time in 2nd or 3rd anyway
as forthe spliter.. You still gotta lift each round. and possibly half.. vs no lifting the heavy pieces and just swingin a maul.. I guess if you got some awnry wood then the splitter is handy. but alder and fir is one swing splitters. Line em all up. like 10 rounds and Just spin around and chop chop chop..
