We did the Focus, 700R and Motorhome, hit alittle heavy in the pocket book, especially that damn light rail tax for something that I'll never use </end quote></div>
That's why I 100% support tolls... if you use it pay for it, and if I use it I have no problem paying the toll. But why should I pay for some BS that I will never use </end quote></div>
I agree with you to a point on this Rancher but there are limits. Schools, Fire Departments, Hospital Districts and, in many areas, Cemetery Districts come to mind. Like you, I don't like the lite rail and some of the other stuff we end up paying for. But the argument that "it's there for your use if you want it" convinces many people.
I'd rather see tolls used more extensively as well.</end quote></div>
Being self employed I have to pay RTA tax every month when I file my excise and B&O tax and sales tax to the Dept. of Revenue.
I feel that if rapid transit can't operate like a business and pay it's own way there are serious problems with it.
I also don't like paying taxes so someone can ride the bus for a buck!
I pay RTA and rapid transit tax and I will probably never see light rail in this county in my lifetime. It's also very frustrating when the authorities want to tear up a rail line that runs from Renton to Snohomish, though Bellevue, Kirkland, Juanita, Woodinville and elsewhere and replace it with a TRAIL!!!!! DUH, the line exists!! Make it a transit line!!!!!! Backwards thinking abounds!!!!!!!!
OK, so much for my rants. I'll stop here or I'll fill the whole page!
