Dropped Ruger off at the Vet this morning, he is gonna loose his nuts today [img][/img] Little porker weighed 63.4lbs, they are gonna check his hips for me too while he is out, he always lays with his legs straight out behind him [img][/img] kinda weird but i figure it can't be good for his hips and after he wakes up he hobbles around like an old man for a few minutes, he is only 9 months old and Rico doesn't act that way. So i guess we'll see if they find anything.</end quote></div>
I hope Ruger checks out A-OK for U today. Our Weimaraner had hip surgery before she was even a year old, not a fun ordeal.

My springer spaniel lays like that sometimes. She only seems to do it when she is really hot and is trying to cool off.
I hope they don't find anything wrong with him.

Doc called, they did an exam on him and found "popping" in both his hips, she said that was indicative of hip dysplasia While he is out they are going to take some x-ray's and see how bad it is. Hopefully he is young enough that we can get it taken care of or start him on something so that he will still be able to live a long happy life with little or no pain.
Yikes! Do you know if his father or mother had hip problems?
By any chance do you give your dogs glucosamie? I know that's not spelled right but you get the idea. Anyways, I give both of my dogs the chewable tablets and it's suppose to help with arthiritis. Might be something to think about, if you don't have your dogs on that yet.

I don't have them on anything special, I feed them Nutro for Large Breeds and it has glucosamine in it, I will talk to the vet and see what she thinks when i pick him up tomorrow morning. I have heard that chondroitin is really good stuff too.
