Winterized mine last night
Your owners manual should give instructions on winterizing
You can blow out lines with compressed air via the city water hookup
You can introduce Antifreeze into your lines
I have a suction tube and a bypass valve next to my water pump, bypass valve closes off line to fresh water tank, put suction tube in gallon of antifreeze, turn on water pump then have somebody open each handle in sinks and shower, one at a time until pink antifreeze flows. Once antifreeze is introduced through all outlets, turn off water pump. I use 3/4 of a gallon on my rig. I use Peak RV & Marine Antifreeze.</end quote></div>
A bypass valve set on the water heater makes things a lot easier, and cheaper since you don't have to have enough anti freeze to fill the hot water tank. Don't forget to drain the hot water tank and fresh water tank. Also, be sure to have the waste tanks empty and pour a couple of cups of anti-freeze in each of the drain traps, kitchen sink, bathroom sink, tub/shower and laundry if you have it. If you do have a laundry you'll need about half a gallon of AF just to dump in the washer and pump it out so the pump wont freeze up. Don't forget to run hot and cold water into the washer when putting AF thru the system.
Remember any outside shower or faucet, broke one of those one time, and remember to put a maintenance charger on the disconnected battery. I like to take the battery out and put it in a heated area. Shut off the propane, make sure the vents are closed, putting an insulated vent "pillow" in the vents stops the condensation drip problem, and raise one end of the RV so the roof drains well. Don't drain it toward the awning.
If you have power available putting a dehumidifier and small heater in the RV will pay dividends in keeping mold and that musty smell from forming. If you do leave power hooked up be sure to shut off the electric heating element in the water heater if your so equipped. (don't ask how I know about that one [img][/img]) Some Decon or other rodent bait is a good idea in most areas.
If no power is available it's a good idea to run the furnace a couple times a month to warm the place up for a day or two. Moisture damage is the biggest killer or RVs.
I've undoubtedly forgotten some things but others will chime in I'm sure. [img][/img]</end quote></div>
Dang someone wanna come do our 2 RV's for us , we just throw heaters in them & hope for the best , we used to use ours more in the winter than summer but not this winter but we are also going to be living in them sometime so I hate to put anti freeze in it then have to flush it in a week!! We got the heaters rolling yesterday on the big blue bus, it's got AWESOME insulation on the under body due to the fact it was a Canadian rig, has the arctic package the other bus though doesn't.
