Pipes,pipes,pipes....
I have a couple of customers @ work that have YFZ450's (I have one too) that have purchased the DR D's pipe (the dubach pipe) before the shootout issue of Dirt Wheels came out. They say the pipe is all of what it should be. Reasonably quiet with pleanty of power all around. I did have one customer talk up the FMF Ti 4 pipe as well. I like the quiet pipes so I'll be getting a dubach pipe as soon as my discount starts up! I will post more about pipes as soon as i get m ore feedback on them. Bill

Yoshi is good, but is very loud, about 104 db I think. It could be a problem at the dunes. I haven't seen any guys running the FMF on their YFZ's.
Loki is in the market for a new exhaust as well. He's been looking at LRD, Sparks, and Trinity (also all loud).
He's done quite a bit of research, so you may want to talk to him.
There is also rumor that LRD is working on a "quiet" system that gives the same power as a regular system. I heard it's in the R&D stages right now. I wouldn't mind testing it out for them. We'll be asking about it when we go down to their grand re-opening this weekend.

Then down to boxcar and we found some more jumps - got some big air. Hauled butt back and the wrist was getting sore so I took two aspirins and a few Mike's......
3:30 in the morning the pain woke me up. It looks like I fractured my scaffoid (sp?) I guess I shouldn't have kept riding with a broken wrist. But it feels better with the cast and I think I can still work the clutch so I might try riding some more tomorrow. I've only gotten to watch for 2 days

When you hear the phrase " when you play hard, stuff breaks", they mean breaking your quad, not yourself!!!! j/k
Sorry to hear you got hurt. I hope your wrist feels better soon!

It's the gytr aluminum oval pipe. Loki has the full system. The header has been ok, he did have to silicone it a bit so it wouldn't leak. But the can is completely falling apart. A friend of ours has the same pipe and is having the same problems. Please keep in mind that both of these guys race mx and xc on a regular basis and give their quads a lot more punishment than the average rider, but I have also heard of others on this forum that have had the same problem with the gytr. Loki had the pipe for only about 4-5 months before it started coming apart.
My thought on it is, Yamaha designed the YFZ to be a race bike, which means it has to stand up to a lot of abuse, which it has. I would hope that they would take that into consideration with the aftermarket stuff as well. I'm not bashing Yamaha, I bleed blue, but I think they could have done a better job with that pipe.
