Default river sand traps!!!

yet another columbia tragedy...but this time it has nothing to do with a space shuttle...bout 2 weeks ago today a guy died walking on a sand shelf right near st. louis mo. , sand shelves occur when the river current goes underneath the sand and creates a hollowed out area underneath it ive seen river birds land on these and the whole thing caves in!!....the one this guy fell in was 40 ft. deep!!!...he was found last night by a barge worker...when they were searching for him they found another body!!....they asked for 4 wheeler volunteers the next day there were a hundred of em!!!....anyway these sand traps/shelves are a serious threat to anyone on a river....my advice to you is to not go on the sand whatsoever if its a river once that sand collapses it turns to quick sand....ive seen 3 people lose there 4wheelers from this cause it wasnt deep but it just sucks it under they were able to get off fast enough.....if anyone here rides a river i advise you to be very carefull because they are highly dangerous...i thought i should keep people notified of this so that they can ride safe and not worry about dangers of this kind!

if u ever ride a area you are not familiar with find someone that is and ask if they know of any traps like this in the area....keep safe, and keep ridin!
