I just figured I would let everyone know that the DNR has closed down the trail systems in these counties of Wisconsin in definitely due to the lack of precipitation and the extremely dry conditions. My neighbor told me there was a fire 2 weekends ago south of Black River Falls on the trail due to an ATV or dirt bike exhaust system that threw a spark out. The fire was controlled, but currently as of 9-8-03 the systems will be closed until we get some much needed rain.

I was up there most of last week and the weekend. See above post. It is true. They are closed until further notice...

I was wondering the real reason like if they had a fire in the past or if it was just getting close to hunting season.

So they actually had a fire caused from an exhaust on a bike. I wouldn't even think that is possible. Even w/ out a spark arrestor. I would think it was from a careless smoker but who knows.

I'll sure have to pay more attention to the exhaust systems knowing that is a real possibility.
