Arizona Riding
There's lots o places out there. Have you been to the MX track at or near Queen Creek? I don't know the name, but if you call Town and Country Motorsports (I think they're in Mesa or Chandler) they have had fliers there. I know there are mx and quad races in the fall, and there are four practice tracks. For desert riding, there's lots of spots south west of Phoenix, between Gila Bend and Maricopa. Head out off the 10 at Firebird racetrack and head towards Harrah's. Off that highway take any of the roads where's there's no house and ride. There's another highway that connects Maricopa to Gila Bend (247? 238? they're building a new Bahsa's on the corner where you need to turn right) That highway goes for about 30 - 40 miles and there are lots of turn offs and some great riding. There's also BLM land that has designated jeep trails, and if you actaully look at the scenery there's some great little mountains with petroglyphs on them. Just be careful - the locals are not friendly about off roaders riding through their back and front yards. The locals are also armed (being it's AZ) so DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ride near or close to any dwelling - especially in no man's land. (Think the banjo scene from Deliverance.) Fortuneately there are not many locals and that area is so large that you can ride for hours and not go near any homes. Have fun.

Believe it or not, sand is hard to come by in AZ. Other than outside of Yuma (really CA) there is a place called Hotwells Dunes outside of Safford, AZ. If you want to go the "Arizona Dunes" aka the Cinder's outside of Flagstaff, check out some of the pictures in my profile. They're not really dunes, but black volcanic pebbles. Also check out Rolls OHV and Sycamore creek (these 2 are only 30-45 minutes from Phoenix).
