I can update what was posted back in 2003, it's now wide open with all the trails marked & their is now a OHV "only" Campground, for now just Google Ride Royal Blue for the camp ground, it a very nice place to ride and things have advanced a LOT in the past Several years, actually their are several property's which all connect, this being Royal Blue, Brimstone,Wind Rock & Coal Creek!

I live just below the dividing line between Royal Blue & Coal Creek & with all the different riding area's their is a good 1000 miles of Trails to ride, but for a first time Visitor I would choose Royal Blue due to the fact everything is marked and their is something their for everybody, from Mild to Wild!

as TXTee said We will be at RB on June 10th-12th, if you would like to hook up with us their will be several Quads, and brand name don't matter to us....it's all about the riding, meeting new people, and making new friends!

here is some more in-depth info about the area!

Respects

Permits

You need only one permit per vehicle and as long as permit holder is on or in the ATV, SXS or Automobile you are covered and it doesn't matter if he or she is operating said vehicle,
So if you break it down its really not "that" much concerning the Vast riding area available!

From Powell Valley Marina not far at all, 10 miles maybe.

actually you have to drive into Lafollette and turn into old HWY 63 make a 1st left under the old RR trestle and another left, right into the parking lot, just tell your friend it's the old dog pound area, Their is a trail head right their, Trail #2

BE FORE WARNED: that is not the most secure area to park, but its free, & is the closest one to PVM, shoot we have parked their before with out problems and would do so again......but like anything their are risks!....Just a heads up!

if you give me a PM 2-3 days in advance I know the area fairly good & We love to ride!

here is a Overlay for Google Earth you can view all the area & trails, even Powell Valley Shores/Marnia.... http://home.comcast.net/%7Edan.koern...d%20Trails.zip
it's made by a Local rider here named Dan this overlay can be bought from Dan for Garmin GPS's only for $50, but he gives this one away because he knows if your going to ride this area much.....you will buy one with life time updates, I know i did! + it's better than the states maps...LOL

BTW: it's 100% safe and will leave you saying DAM that's a LOT of trails....its around 40-50 miles square!

here is a PDF file from the state of TN that is NOT as good as the one above, it only shows the trails in Royal Blue & one side of it (their are 2 sides..it's a BIG area)
