I didn't get back in time for this thread. I went to Tex to pick up the wife's bike.
Any loss of life is terrible. Its a sad way to learn a lesson, but the dirt bike guys and some quad guys drive nuts out there. Just because your bike will run 70 don't mean you have to run 70 every were you go. Remember the day I was just sitting still in the open and the bike t-boned me.
We went down south and rode on the Mississippi sand bar a couple of weekends ago. It was a blast. The only thing it don't have is a lot of other bikes to race, its kind of privet. Of course we had lots of races between are selves. We found a jump that was great. I bet we was jumping 50ft in distance. There was one area that we had a oval course and race in a circle. Man, I didn't realize how out of shape my arms was.
I think were planning another ride next month. I will post it on here when I get a date.

What was your wife's bike doing in Texas? Getting it ready for when she is back to racing after the baby is born?
Also, would really like to get some directions to this sand bar. We'd like to do some riding out there too. Biggin, Sanddraggen and I were talking about going to Rockport but it looks like it isn't anything but rock trails and mud pits. Don't really want to put the bikes through that.

The Mississippi sand bar has it all. As soon as I get a date i will let you all know. I've been there a dozen times, and i'm still not sure how to get there. Theres lots of back roads and fields I'm not sure about.

The rocktrails at Rockport are for Jeeps/Suvs only and the 1,000s and 1,000s of pounds of that was hauled in. This isn't a rocky area. There is an acre size mudpit and a small one. The park is for the most part miles and miles of wooded trails with some great hill climbs, creek riding, and "play areas" all over where you go into a wooded trail area and make your own trails. It's worth the trip. There's a great atv/dirtbike riding day Nov 9th with free lunch, a poker run, lots of great prizes and all day trailriding.
It's definately not just rock and mudpits, that is such a minor part of the park.

Don't think Biggin and I can make it down there on Saturday. Hope you guys enjoy it! We might be down on Sunday though.
