Riding in Arkansas, south central Missouri
#1
Looking to find information on trail riding in northern Arkansas near Bull Shoals Lake and in south central Missouri north of the Bull Shoals Lake area. Will be in the area over Thanksgiving and would like to do some riding. What, if any, types of permits and/or registration is required in Missouri or Arkansas?
Thanks in advance for any info.

You can ride anywhere in Mark Twain Forest in Missouri, but you have to buy a permit for the county that you will be riding in. They sell them at many of the stores near the Forest ($10 for the year). Also there is Chadwick ORV which is a little farther north of Branson/Bull Shoals area that you are talking about. That is a popular place. Bull Shoals lake has some riding areas, nothing very big from what I have seen though. To get to one of those riding areas, take Highway 76 out of Branson, through Kirbyville, Turn right on MM highway, MM highway will make a hard left turn or you can go straight (which turns into dirt), go straight and it will come out by the lake. This place was fun to mess around at, but not really a serious riding spot, only a few trails. I would recommend buying a county sticker and riding through Mark Twain Forest. They sell forest service maps that show you all of the areas you can ride in with your sticker. Hope this helps.
