Default Oklahoma - Camp Gruber

Has anyone ever riddern at the Camp Gruber facility. I saw in a tourism publication that they have a riding area there but have never tried it. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I rode at camp gruber once, there were several trails but its really rocky. If you are in to rocky trails you will like it.

Caddo,

Thanks, and yes Rocky trails are what I like. Do you by any chance remember if there are signs marking the areas you can and can't ride in? I am really wanting to try some different areas...thank you.

The area that you can ride in is all fenced in. The road leading into the ORV area runs pretty much down the middle of the whole thing. If you go to the left of the road (southside) those are the really rocky trails, and if you go to the right of the road (northside) the trails are less rocky, and if you go to the end of the road and enter the trails (westside) you can ride all the way down to a tall bluff that overlooks the Arkansas river. The ORV area is separate from the main military part of camp gruber, and you will get to it before you see the military entrance. There is a state park near camp gruber (Greenleaf State Park) that has camping and cabins, alot of people stay there while they are visiting camp gruber.

I live 15 mins away from Gruber, unless you have NO OTHER trails to ride, you might like it. Like it was posted before...it is real rocky. You can cover the whole atv park in about 45 mins!!!! I can turn you onto some trails that will impress you if you like trail riding. I got a ticket at Gruber 2 yrs ago(this is not the reason I dislike the area!!). Email me if you want more detailsDavid
