Default ANF, PA - Marienville Trails closed

It happens all the time. A little rain and they close the trails. I swear that if there isn't a foot of snow they don't want to open the trails. I understand they want to reduce the resource damage, as they call it, but these trails are for riding, there is erosion control. Maybe it's time to buy a snowmobile, those trails are still open. Did anyone get to ride before they closed the trails? I guess it's time to go to Hatfield-McCoy.

Mark.

The main reason for the trail closure is not lack of snow. The reason is that the ground is not frozen. It does not matter what the season is as far as the ANF trails go. If the ground is saturated, and not frozen, they will close the trails. Even in the summer, they can and will close them if it is too wet.
