While I agree the Prairie 700 is a great machine!! Its definately OUT of its class there!!!!! Its 90% Rock Crawling and speeds are usually under 5mph!!! IRS machines like the Grizz, Sportsman, AC650 and Rincon far surpass the Prairie in those situations!!!! Ridden with them many times!!! Don't get the job done!! But then again, no vehicle does there without a winch lol!

Please forgive me if you think I always bash the prairie!! Thats not my intention!!! But people make way to much of a deal about the prairie because of how fast it is and not the true use of a utility 4x4 which is to travel difficult terrain!! I'm just saying the Kawi has its place I can't see where it excells that the other machines dont besides speed, but I can see where the IRS machines excel that it doesnt!!!! Honestly, if I didnt ride in the areas that I do, I would definately own a Prairie, cuz those things are incredibly fast to be a Utility!!! I almost want to take one to the local MX track and try a few doubles!!! Imagine that! LOL!

A good rider could do fine there with a Prairie, but ground clearance, smooth skid plate, and suspension travel can't be underestimated. That place is EXTREME. Especially the rock garden. If the prairie didn't have a locker on the front, forget it. That's the only thing that makes up somewhat for suspension travel and ground clearance.

its more rider then anything, i went there on a Z400 and hung in right along with the utilities i was with. I only got hung up once where i needed assistance. no I didnt do just easy trails or anything like that
tellico is the most awsome place (and extreem) there is around here. hattfiled McCoy has nothing like tellico had. it was a fun place, you see lots of truck carnage there too. its an awsome place to anyone to go to. Sport quads can make it, but if your a beginner and not that good, stick to a utility there.

Im sorry let me restate I went down all trails passible by ATV, the other ones your talking about with obsticals for trucks i didnt figure in. No ATV could ever make it over slick rock or anything (and winching isnt 4-wheeling) I mean, if I stick a wench on my Z400 I could go up a tree or the side of a building. Just about anything besides Mud, a 4x4 and a 2x4 can make the same. it just takes a little more effort on 2x4. but no, I didnt do any of the Obsticals, i did do just about ever trail leading up to them and such. i was hanging with 4x4's.
kawasaskirules:
Nags Head would rock on an ATV, but its all illegal to ride around here. Corova, about 45 min north of here atv's are allowed. Its awsome beach riding there. few dunes but your not really supposed to be on most of them. lots of trails, it probably has over 100 miles of unmarked trails. and its impossible to get lost because you just head east till you get to the beach. you should check into it.
