The place I ride is owned by the Core of Engineers. The trails run along the Black River. There are some pretty good mud pits, rock, sand, open land, and trees good mixture!. As you ride along the river the trail opens up into some real nice tracks with berms and jumps. The only rule out there is “Stay out of the water !!!! The COE will nail you to the wall if you ride the river. I will attach a link to explain it a little better. It is about a 2 ½ hour drive for me (south), I live in O’Fallon. I will look up some good maps if you guys are interested. I would like to meet in the early spring if you are all up to it!River info!

Fees total...........GAS Almost everyone uses flags but there not required. Darn good Idea to have one out there though.

I think this is where he is talking about. It's near Johnson Shut-Ins.

black river is where i started riding at as a child. they shut it down for a hiel, and he is right, even in the late 80' you couldn't touch the river or yougot nailed. the trail riding, you could ride damn near all day. and some of the trails were made for buggies and trucks that were originally allowed. look up jeff's canoe rentals and get the map to their location. the core of engineers camping sight is just on the other side of the bridge from jeff's. camping is free at the coe camp ground and no fee's to ride. thanks for the thead, now that i know it is open i am definately going shortly, gettin tired of st.joe's.
