sierra nevada mountains riding
#1
I was wondering if there were any riding spots near sonora pass or any place near. I was there about 10 years ago and I plan on going in July or August....wanted to take the quad and ride while I was there (after re-jetting of course!)

There are three areas that we have ridden on dirt bikes between Sonora and Sonora Pass just off highway 108. The first is Italian Bar that you turn N-W just after Twain Hart. The second is just S-E of Long Barn off Forest Road #31. The third is a smaller area in vicinity of Dodge Ridge/Pinecrest. You should contact the OHV Officer of the Stanislaus National Forest and request OHV maps and instructions before heading up. Equipment must meet sound limits, have forestry approved spark arrestors, and have legal OHV registration. If your equipment is registered out of Calif, I believe you need to buy a temporary permit to ride in Calif. Ask OHV Officer about out of state requirements.
