BAUER'S PIT!!!!!!! :D
And of course more damage was realized after the trip was over...
The guy with the Polaris Sport 400 ended up melting his top end...
One of the Raptors had a bolt head that was sheared off .... from the swingarm.
Like they say ... you have to pay to play!
Looks like my quad is back in good operating order after the air filter. Looks like I was one of the few fortunate ones!
LEP7MM and CJ5Gurl (& other club members): Is a pit cleanup already organized and in the works, or is it something we need to do yet? I know we have fence to put up, cars and trash to take out, etc.. What other things are there left to accomplish, and will there be some division of these responsibilities to smaller sub-groups on cleanup day?

we still need to designate a day. On top of hauling out garbage, we have to pull out the cars, put up fencing, do some landscaping per county requirements to control water run-off.
It sounds as though there is no shrtage of heavy equipment at our disposal which is great. This is a huge plus. If we get the masses out there, much of this can be accomplished in a weekend.
We can discuss this more in depth tonight at the meeting.

County clears controversial issues
By Pauline Schreiber

FARIBAULT -- A controversial conditional-use permit (CUP) application to operate an off-road vehicle riding area, and an equally controversial preliminary plat for a 33-lot subdivision on the northeast end of Circle Lake, both passed the muster of the Rice County Board Tuesday, each by a 4-1 vote.
Roy Bauer, who lives at 17085 Donaldson Trail in Section 14 of Cannon City Township, is turning a formerly uncontrolled gravel pit area where people have ridden ATV vehicles, into a controlled off-road vehicle riding range.
Property neighbors who spoke at a Rice County Planning Commission hearing held earlier this month about the CUP for the ATV riding range had concerns including noise control, policing of activity in the riding area, and whether the county could adequately enforce rules governing the riding trail.
Dave Sommerland, a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources safety trainer, however, spoke in favor of the project at the planning commission. He thought the riding range was a great opportunity for ATV owners to ride off the road. Several other people also spoke in favor of it.
County board members voted 4-1 Tuesday to approve the 24 conditions recommended by the planning commission for the riding range, and grant Bauer a permit to operate the off-road riding range.
County Commissioner Heather Robins voted against the permit because of the concerns neighbors to the property cited at the planning commission hearing.
"They asked about enforcement," she said. "Will the county make sure Bauer operates this according to conditions of the permit?"
"Rice County is no different than other counties," Commissioner Dan Minnick answered. "We all have only so many planning staff."
Rice County Planning Commissioner Arlyn Grussing said his staff will inspect the property to make sure it complies with conditions in the permit before it can officially open.
"Obviously, we can't be out there on a full-time basis," he said. "We expect neighbors to contact us if problems occur."

I assume we still won't be able to camp out there? That sucks because that is one of the things I enjoyed--making a weekend out of it. I suppose the county looks at it as bringing business to the existing campgrounds in the area.

we need to hold off for now on the pit cleaning. It's looking like the GIA might happen faster than the opening of the pit. We have some red tape to get through yet before we can legally go in and work. There will be more meetings to come in the next couple weeks.
One thing we have to do is get all groups involved and start a parent association or club that includes the individual groups. At that time, we can settle a lease agreement with Roy. As an association, it will be easier to get reimbursed through the GIA program and then disburse the funds to the smaller groups based on who, from each club, worked how much time. We will have to keep track of the time.
After reading the article that klier posted, I noticed they sure slaughtered my last name. LOL oh well. It's the media.
I will keep everyone posted as to when we can go to work out there.
