IRON COUNTY, WI
#2
I ride a lot with my son in Iron River, west of Hurley. That whole northern Wisconsin trail area is fantastic, great scenery, hundreds of miles of trails, lots of little towns to see, easy trail access from campgrounds or hotels (set up for snowmobilers,so trails run right into towns). I have never rode Hurley, but met a few who have, the only thing they don't like is the red iron clay silt that covers your wheeler and stains it all red, kinda hard to get off if it bakes on the motor, it is a good ride if you catch it damp, like a day or so after a rain, between dusty and muddy, so the red stuff don't cover you. If you go up there, take an afternoon or a whole day and go to Bayfield, and take the ferry out to the Apostle Islands, or take the boat tour of all the islands, you will love the scenery, my son still talks about it. No matter what, you will have a good time and find lots of great riding areas.
