Last summer, my buddie bought a brand new YFZ450. We were dying to see how it did in the open desert and dunes, so we did a night/early morning ride out at Rasor, in the middle of August! We had such a great time, we are now going to make it an annual event!

We go out in the late evening (when it has "cooled off" into the 80's!), do a night ride, then throw out a cot and sleep a few hours until dawn. Then, get up and ride until it gets to hot to survive (usually around 10:00). After that, we jump in the air conditiond trucks, and head to town for breakfast.

It was incredible! The dunes were tackless, and had perfect lips. The sand trails were trackless and perfect! Afton Canyon didn't have much water, but was beautiful as always.

So, we are going to do the ride again this year! Probably in September, whenever there is a full moon. ANYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN US! Be aware that the road was washed out pretty bad last summer, so it is best to have a 4X4 to get back into the area.

Going this Friday night (8/27) and Saturday morning. Full moon. Night temps are supposed to be a comfortable 70 degrees, and the high Saturday will only be 100 (cool for out there).
