Kisatchie national forest trails in Louisiana
#1
I have been to the trails at the Kisatchie Ranger district, Sandstone trail, several times. Reportedly it's 31 miles long, really a big loop. It's alot of fun, with some good natural scenery. On a weekend, there are plenty of people, but the trails haven't been crowded at all. There's also a set of trails at the Calcasieu ranger district of Kisatchie National Forest. There are 3 sets of trails there, a beginner trail, and two slightly longer and not much more difficult trails, 5 and 15 miles in length respectively. The long one is named Fullerton trail.
Kisatchie National forest is broken up into about 7 districts, in several parishes, and they have a website updated daily with trail status (open or closed). The only closed for rainy weather.
Anybody else ride up there? Thanks

I have been to Sandstone trail several times. Great trail to ride and a nice campground. Half of the trail has been shut down to ATVs and they are debating about shutting the rest of it down also.
